Reservations are a must for this tour as the number of participants is limited. We were able to secure same day tickets but purchased them when the ticket office first opened for later that afternoon. Our guide was a native Galvestonian (BOI---Born on the Island) and was a wealth of information about the storied Moody family, the construction of the... More

If you love old houses with original furnishings, this is the tour for you. Beautiful furnishings and great stories of life in the early days of Galveston.

Wow what beautiful gardens!! It will take your breath away. The museum was most interesting. The fee is well worth it. (Fee is moderate) You can spend hours in the gardens. Make sure you go to this attraction but please don't be limited on time - you'll regret if you do!

We bought the combination Moody Mansion & Bishop's Palace tour tickets which saves a few bucks. The tour guide did an excellent job of showing the home, giving the prominent Moody family history and connecting both to the history of the infamous 1900 hurricane. Every detail and room of the home is an architectural work of art. The historic furnishings... More

The reason I am giving this a 3, is because we were not able to see the entire mansion. The bottom floor was flooded by Hurricane Ike, and was not restored. No one is allowed on the third floor which was the were the help stayed. So, we only got to see 2 floors for our $10.00 per person. You... More

Beautiful old home. The tour was very informative. Almost to the point of long tho. The tour was guided by a docent, and it took just over an hour to see the place. Lots of history on the family, but seemed to dwell a little much on the wealth of the family. Very nice to see the home tho. Buy... More

We enjoy visiting historic buildings and so it is no surprise that we enjoyed the Moody's Mansion. The guided tour and short video before hand were certainly worthwhile. The house had a very nice feel about the place and we were glad that it had survived all of the storms. It is a grand home

The home is wonderful, very ahead of it's time when it was built - combination gas and electric lighting, DC electricity powered the house, speaking tube communications throughout the house. The tour was only a 4, the docent started with all the "rules" of what not to touch, where not to stand, etc. She seemed to rush the tour somewhat,... More

We did the non guided walking tour and it was so interesting to walk around and look at how the Mansion was built and see the great craftsmanship.

Very well preserved home. It was neat to see all the fixtures and furnishing. The tour guide was very informed and involved in the tour. I went back and forth between average and very good for this attraction. I decided very good because of the value ($10 pp). I would not recommend for young children.
