You must visit this mansion. The guided tour is wonderful and informative. and is highly recommended. Check online for discount tickets and save when you purchase a ticket to tour both the Moody Mansion and Bishop's Palace for only $16 for both tours. I highly recommend touring both homes before leaving Galveston.

Our family of high school and college aged students all enjoyed the tour. Much effort is made to have authentic furnishings and give an accurate portrayal of the family. Pay attention to tour times since this is NOT self-guided. In MArch 2013, tours began at 11, 1 and 3.

This was a very interesting tour with tons of history. The tour guide was VERY knowledgeable and told us EVERYTHING about every single piece of furniture and room in this house. I personally loved the tour because I love history, but be warned that this tour is very long. I thought it was very interesting and a great pre-cruise activity.

This is another impressive home tour in the Galveston area. We enjoy seeing the historical buildings and homes in the areas we visit and the Moody Mansion certainly qualifies in the Galveston area.

We visited this mansion the day before we left on our cruise. They showed you what would be the basement and the devastation still left from the hurricane. This is a beautiful mansion. They only allow you to enter by having a tour guide. So, make sure you get there early. We were there an hour before the next tour,... More

My sister and I did the 1-2 hour tour with tour guide dujour, Claire (Pat). She is an excellent tour guide and has extensive knowledge of the home and families that lived there. We were very interested and would love to know more about the Moody family. There was a lot of walking and standing (we aren't old but neither... More

When we are in Galveston my daughter and her friends love to visit the MM. The guides are super friendly and it is nice to see a little Texas history.

You can not see the mansion unless you go on the official tour with the guide du jour. Leave your camera in the car. Photography is not allowed. I saw other reviews about the staff not being particularly friendly and this was our experience also. I was warned by the hotel clerk that we may encounter one of the "grouchy... More

Must see the rain forest and aquarium, best ever and if you live locally please get a yearly pass. I like the fact that if you have someone that already has a pass they can get discounts for visitors, Imax fantastic, 3d and 4d ride shows great and gardens around the area and the Boat is a must see.
