We enjoyed a tour of the Moody Mansion and were dazzled by the architectual details and history surrounding the home. We had a delightful tour guide who was full of insider information and involved everyone in the stories. We had two children in our group, and the Dosen managed to keep them engaged and interested during the entire hour tour.

Informative piece of US HISTORY and Moody family. Our tour guide was outstanding, detailed and entertaining throughout. This house is remarkable, full of rich history, detail and exquisite taste of decor..way before Martha Stewart lol. The craftsmanship alone is worth the tour, not to mention the house furnishings. If in Galveston and wanting a quick tour of historic properties this... More

While in Galveston one of our stops was the Mood Mansion Museum. On the tour we learned about the history of motor-vehicles on the island, more about the great storm, about the famous Mood family, and a few other interesting facts. The tour starts out in the Mood garage and then moves into the house. The basement was flooded out... More

While my husband and I visited friends in Galveston, they suggested we visit Moody Mansion. I knew nothing of it and had never been to Texas so was not acquainted with the prominent Moody family, and visiting old houses was not usually my cup of tea. However, this tour was thoroughly enjoyable, interesting, and educational. The person that made it... More

This historical mansion dates back to 1895, and was owned by two families. The mansion is right on the main street so you can't miss it. Parking is free and is behind the building. Enter the garage at rear to purchase tour tickets. Tours are guided and take about an hour. You see the two main levels of the house;... More

Had granddaughters birthday party at the childern's museum yesterday. it was the perfect place to entertain 14 six year olds. Numerous activities for the kids to do and a very caring staff. I would highly recommend this as a destination for locals and visitors to the island.

Better to arrive early to be sure you can get a ticket,a combo ticket is available for the Bishop house tour which is a self guided with a handheld speaker unit which we thought was more enjoyable than the Moody guided tour.

The Moody Mansion is a grand old lady of a home. Having survived multiple hurricanes, this home has remained absolutely beautiful. If you enjoy history, the tour guide does an excellent job of revealing glimpses of the lives of those who have lived here. Many of the walls are hand painted with gold. It is a great way to spend... The house is absolutely beautiful with original furnishings. There has been restorations done to match the original design of the house. The tour guide was very knowledgeable.
