We have been here several times. It is a "must see" IF you enjoy old homes and like to visualize living in an earlier day. The home had many "modern" systems, like the intercom. They do not bulid them like this any more - 20 inch thick walls - whoa!

Our docent was very sour faced. She never smiled or introduced herself and it seemed as though she resented the fact that we were there. She was outwardly rude to several members of the tour group. She seemed to be sticking exactly to a script and offered no off the cuff anecdotes about the house or family. It was very... More

Really enjoyed the trip back in time our guide gave us as we made our way through the beautiful old home. Lovely historic home and interesting family stories.

We loved going in the mansion, but there are no self tours. Make sure you are there close to on the hour, so you don't have to wait for the next tour. No military discounts. But it isn't really expensive. Also, you only tour the main floor and second floor. Not the top floor or the ground floor. That is... More

The house, museum, and content of the tour was amazing. The tour guide was wonderfully knowledgeable. Learning the history and seeing the house was a treat. The tour guide was exceptionally cranky and short with the guests. It was necessary that the guests blocked that out and concentrated on the tour itself in order for the tour to not be... More

I went alone for the tour because I live in Houston and go to beaches in Galveston on the weekends to get away from stress. I always drive by the Moody Mansion and simply wanted to see inside. The tour guide tells a great story about the family and I felt like I was in the Moody home and I... More

Great place to visit in Galveston that you shouldn't miss. Beautiful architecture, and interesting history. Tour was very interesting and informative, one of the best historical homes we have seen. Stained glass windows that survived the hurricane are highlights.

this was on the list of must see. We went in November so it was decorated for Christmas. It was beautiful! Tour guide was awesome. House makes you feel like your back in the time period.

Went here on a recent visit to Galveston, TX. Such a lovely old home, and a great history. Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the area and the home. It would have been nice to see the basement, but they had turned that into a children's museum, so it was not available to see. The home was in very... More
