Moody Gardens not attached to the Museum, but an interesting environment for a half day's tour. Difficult to get to if you are northbound on I-45.

A video of the history of the Moody family is the starting point of the tour. The nicest part about the tour is that the original furnishings have been preserved and are on display, although they were much less impressive than I anticipated. The original flooring and covered walls are in tact. There are a number of stairs to climb... More

Three things you need to know: 1) the only elevator will not accommodate a scooter and no wheelchairs are provided. 2) beautiful home but photos are forbidden. 3) tour guide tends to rush, speaking before all members of the group have entered the room. The next group followed so closely that at times, I was hearing the voices of two... More

The house is very beautiful, but I enjoyed learning the history of the Moody family and Galveston. You start the tour in the garage and there are 3 old family cars that you can see and an 8 minute video introduction to the Moody family. You then enter the main house and tour the main floor and the second floor.... More

Another beauty of the restored mansions in Galveston. Visit this first before Bishop's Palace -- you can get a reduced ticket price if you buy the tickets together. The mansion has a guided tour. The docents are friendly and fairly knowledgeable, although their stories of the Moody family are a bit sugar-coated based on other history sources. The "spin" I... More

There is an 18 person limit for each tour, and we were afraid we had missed it for the day. We called in and there was room for us. Our guide was pleasant, and informative. She kept us moving along, but I never felt like I had to hurry. All of the staff members were respectful and kind. The tour... More

It is not a mansion, just a big house. The staff is cold and the patrons arogant. The oleander garden was half dead. Don't waste your time or money.

Great tour of home. The home was very interesting and impressive. Its history is fascinating and offers a glimpse into Galveston;s past and the mark that the Moody family has had upon Galveston and Texas.

Great history and very well laid out with the original furniture. Maybe the 3rd floor will be open when we return. The house is beautiful.

The good. This is a very large old Mansion on Broadway in Galveston .All room sizes were grand and elegant. Some were finished in the style of the 1880's. The History of the Mansion and the Moody family was well presented. The Moody name is on many things in Galveston. This tour is a money maker for the family. The... More
