We visiting the beach over a couple days at different times. Mid afternoon was the busiest with familes. We had 2 dogs with us, they had a great time, several other dogs were at the beach around dusk. They were all on leashes, so it made it a nice no issues.

This is a nice beach and very rich in history! Especially in the history of the hurricane of 1900! The seawall is 17 feet high and is how high the entire city of Galveston was raised to prevent future catastrophic hurricane damage.

The heart and soul of Galveston, not the prettiest beach in the world, but it is cleaned daily. Seawall Blvd is extremely busy, a testament to it's popularity. Walk, drive, or bike the seawall and if you get bored your just not trying. Sit on the deck at Murdoch's and have a beer with the sea breezes blowing your cares... More

We had an awesome time hanging out and swimming in the ocean. Beach is daily clean. Friendly people. Also our battery died and the life guards was very helpful in getting us a jump to be back on our way.. Thank you

History and the future. It is an amazing fun and functional thing. It is an enjoyable place to walk or jog whilst enjoying Gulf breezes.

My wife and I came down to Galveston for the weekend. It was late in the Peak season so it was still pretty crowded. We couldn't make it to Florida this year so we really just wanted some beach time. We decided to stay sway from the seawall area. I personally find it dirty and crowded. We went down the... More

Our hotel was directly across the street from the seawall. All the good hotels are there. Down the street in very easy walking distance is the pier which has a big souviner shop, restaurant (Bubba Gumps) and an amusement park. There was limited metered parallel parking along the seawall. The beach is nice and clean and had manned lifeguard stations... More

Whether you are just driving by or stop to view the water, it is great. Wonderful sunrises and sunsets over the ocean. Great for the photographer. Very relaxing just watching the tide.
