Great to hear the waves and view the Gulf of Mexico on a lazy afternoon while all the kids are back in school. A serious me time!

Always a great scene. Love driving down the seawall! Speed limit is 45 but nobody drives it! Too pretty to drive fast. Too busy looking! :)

Beautiful Sand, clean beaches, great restaurants along the beach. Great pier for the kids to play at by Budda Gump. Water is nice, but cold this time of year. Will return in the Spring!!

We were in Galveston for the Dickens on the Strand event and I took the grand kids down to the Seawall so they could stick their toes in the Gulf one last time for 2014! There are plenty of stairs to get down to the beach, we parked in front of the Hotel Galvez. Not sure about the parking costs.... More

Never underestimate the relaxing nature of a stroll. Even though Seawall Boulevard is right next to it, you can loose yourself in thought as you walk. The wind usually blows and even if it's not just a light one, you can enjoy that whipping through your hair.

The seawall is a great place to sit and people watch, stroll, speed walk, riding a bike or jog. Start by driving slowly and getting a good, free parking spot and get outside and enjoy! Sea breezes and the smells that only a true beach can offer are available and plenty of four legged friends.

The first thing you will notice about Galveston is how friendly the locals. B.O.I (born on the island). This strip follows the curve of the Gulf of Mexico. It is jam packed with every type of eatery, souvenir stands, rental two-seater bikes, kites, you name it. Because of the mild winters it is a haven for its northern neighbors. On... More

I have been going to Galveston for over 50 years. I have been there almost on a monthly basis the last couple years. Before the pay for parking was installed, there were few places to park along the seawall during the warm months. Many people parked along the seawall to enjoy the beach. We were there this Thanksgiving and the... More
