Clean, Friendly & Popular for sunbathing, swimming & dining. We were there early evening on a sunny day... people we swimming in the sea, surfing lessons were taking place and the pier rides running. Local bars/restaurants looked reasonably good with plenty of choice. The area was clean with plenty of parking.

My wife and I have never been on jet ski's and it looked fun so we thought we would give it a try. We rented the jet ski from the people just down the beach from the holiday Inn on the sea wall where we were staying. It was terrible. First they took our 125.00 they gave us life jacket... More

This was my favorite getaway when I lived in Houston. The Seawall hosts plenty of restaurants and shopping, both touristy and practical. The beach beyond is pleasantly quiet and relatively peaceful, even when busy. Enjoy a refreshing swim or stroll on the beach, or throw down a towel and relax on the sand with the soothing waves. Several rock jetties... More

The best place to walk the beach and see all restaurants! Nice clean beach! They take good care of it!

It's so much fun to ride bikes, walk, check out babes, anything goes! Well not anything.. ;) No alcohol is allowed on the seawall. If you wanna walk around and drink, go to the Strand.

Holliday Inn Hotel at seawall is my home when I'm in town and that’s often over the last 15 years. You will not be disappointed

sorry to say it, I live here and love the beach but people are very inconsiderate when they visit and leave their trash along the beach including the dirty baby diapers

I've been to Galveston a few times and the best beach is around 61st street. If you're around 81st street, you're dealing with crawling over large granite blocks and the tide. My legs were sore from climbing over boulders. The water was a little tore up from Tropical Storm Bill, it's usually a little more green.

You better drive slow to appreciate all that magnificent view of the seawall at Galveston! The more you go up North the less people you will see at the ocean because the parking along side the ocean only has a steep set of stairs that leads mostly into rocks and then the ocean right away; the more you go down... All previous visits not really good because of excessive sea weed. Recent trip was sea weed free, but hard, heavy rains contaminated the water. Was declared safe before we left. Lots of fun chasing an 18 month old grandson and 6 more of his cousins.
