Have been here numerous times with my wife and kids. Easy access to the sea wall and beach. Lot's of parking so no big deal on getting set to checkout the beach. Lots of opportunity for family pictures. Buzzing street with lots of people cruising around. Lot's of shopping and trinket shops to be had. If you're thinking about visiting,... More

I am really disappointed in the way the paid parking is handled. I do not want to be forced to give my credit card number to anyone. If you opt of the still free section you have to walk a very long ways to get to the attractions. There should be a way to pay without using a credit card,... More

A great place to walk to take in the gulf of Mexico. The water isn't pretty, but it is a beach and water.

This is a good place to take a long walk and people watch while enjoying some ocean scenery and beach activity (surfers, parasurfers, etc.). The highway runs right next to the Seawall, so it can be noisy, but a stroll after dinner at Gaido's or Salsa's is a good way to pass the time with friends and family.

Solid, but doesn't seem high enough to prevent the sea from blowing into town during a hurricane. Seems like the design could have been more effective...

We love walking along the historic seawall in Galveston when we visit. If you take the time to read all of the historical placards along the way, you'll learn many interesting facts such as when and why the seawall was built, its dimensions, etc. I could tell you here, but it would spoil the experience for you. Go, learn, and... More

The drive along the seawall is just another busy street built up above the beach level unless you know the unbelievable history and engineering feat that went into making Galveston "the city on stilts". Go see the Great Storm or buy a book about the raising of the island's sea level, THEN drive along the seawall. The cheap t-shirt shops... More

When visiting Galveston, we always love walking along the Seawall and then walking down along the beach to collect seashells. We also love renting the bicycle surries and riding along the seawall! So fun!

Drive along Seawall Blvd. by the Gulf for the west end.An engineering feat from 1902 to protect Galveston from the sea surge of hurricanes. Visit the Visitors center to get the history, then take a walk along the seawall, and visit the beaches. A great bit of history. Drive to the east end to the ship channel to watch the... More

Lots of things to do, Places to eat, stop for a drink, or buy something unique, a free beach (minus parking), or just stop a read the signs about the sea life and other creatures that in habit this area. Life guards stand... More
