Der Kuchen Laden is by far the best and most well stocked culinary shop I have visited. The shop is located in what was once a hospital and is laid out in a manner that makes it easy to find an item or to just browse. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend a stop whenever you are... More

Despite the German name, this unique kitchen store has all sorts of items imported from everywhere as well as US made gadgetry, baking accessories, coffee mills, books, aprons, table lines, arrayed in different rooms. The building had been an old hospital in the late 1800's and I don't think there have been too many interior changes since those days because... More

Every time we come to Fredericksburg, we always visit this store before we leave town. It is a must see stop for anyone who cooks - whether its professional or a home cook - this place is phenomenal!! They have so many different kitchen gadgets, knives, cooking pots and pans, dessert pans of every kind, and so much more general... More

The people who work at this retail store is what makes the store a pleasant place to shop! You are assisted in a helpful manner. The employee is willing to take the product out of the box to show how it works. The shop can order product for you. The store will also ship product as well!!

This store in located in an old historic hospital building, which fascinates me. It's loaded with kitchen gadgets that may be hard to find elsewhere. I've found several treasures here over the years. The employees are always friendly and helpful. This is a must stop and see place on Main Street :)

This is a great little kitchen store with, probably, everything you could ever want for your kitchen and some things you didn't yet know that you wanted. My husband and I were in town for the day and we love to cook and bake so we thought we'd check it out. Browsing around we found several things that we'd been... More

This store is jam packed with all the kitchen tools, gadgets, accoutrements and whatevers that any foodie ever dreamed of. Makes Williams-Sonoma look minimalist. Helpful and friendly sales people were delighted to tell you what that strange device hanging second from the left is for. Also has a nice courtyard right by the door so the non-cooking member of your... More

Even the shops in Paris France or Carmel California are not as cool and wonderful as Der Kuchen Laden. It's like a little german town all on its own. My gosh, even the restrooms out back are cool! The staff are all great and helpful without being obnoxious. We went to do some last minute Christmas shopping and it was... More

You could come in here with a list of kitchen items that you want or need, however half of the fun is browsing the many rooms of endless gadgets. They have kitchen tools that I had no idea I needed. The staff is so friendly and so helpful. I get educated every time I visit!

surprised this little store is not higher up the list. Extremely little quaint and interesting store. Most items I thought were reasonably priced. Not a very large store from outside appearance, but absolutely crammed with kitchen type items. Lot hard to find or discontinued items from years back as well. Restraining my wife is always the biggest problem with this... More
