We were pleasantly surprised with downtown Fredericksburg when we first drove into town. It has so many fun and interesting shops and restaurants. We are planning a trip back to finish up looking at the rest of the town. We didn't have time to see everything in half a day of visiting. Worth the time and drive.

This was my 2nd trip back to Fredericksburg. First trip was 4 years ago. I was amazed at how much has changed in such a short amount of time. It seems that corporations are now coming in and buying up the B&B's from Mom and Pop and trying to build as many units as they can on the small Main... More

Every May when we vacation in Marble Falls, TX, on Lake LBJ, one of our day trips is to Fredricksburg, TX. There are so many different kinds of stores for awesome shopping...something for everyone. Probably my favorite store is the Christmas store. Plan on spending at least a full day walking the main street. Lots of good places to eat.

I dont live far from here and every time we have company, this is where we take them. Also, I would venture to guess there are at least 400 places to stay in and around this town and I have stayed in approx. 15 of them. I want to give everyone who reads this a WARNING.......Because this is not only... More

Surprised that shops closed at 5 p.m. for the day. Also were surprised that some restaurants closed between lunch and dinner. I guess I'm just used to continuous serving from breakfast through dinner.

The only mistake I made was not budgeting more time here. This town has great shops and galleries. The wife and I only had the afternoon so we were limited in what we saw but you could easily spend 2 or 3 days checking it all out. This is one place I will have to put back on the list... More

Lots of neat shops, specialty items, and local cowboy and western art and items. Make sure you have your walking shoes on since there is a lot of stuff to see.

Great wsy to spend a nice dsy. Stop by the visitors center first and get a map then scope out the stores you want to visit. Too much for one day so pick you favs first. Love the place with all the seasonings and mixes. Try them all! Lots and benches to sit and rest and loads of great food.
