big help

My family went to the Hill country for the first time and the Fredericksburg Information really helped us plan our activities and we had a great time. Thanks!

The visitor center is comparatively better than many we have visited in other cities. The ladies were very friendly and knowledgeable on attractions, accommodations, restaurants and others. The one who served us was very cheerful and laughed all the time. Really brightened up my day after a long drive. Go to the visitor center first before exploring the city.

My boyfriend and I went to Fredericksburg on a whim, and I am honestly not sure if it was in September or otherwise. Either way, we found the information center and as soon as we walked in were greeted by one of the ladies there. She asked if we had been to Fredericksburg before and we said no. She then... More

Great place to get information and you can watch a film while you are there. The people were very nice.

Fredericksburg is a walkable community, Main street has so many things to do that you don't have to leave the community. The next trip we'll do things in the surrounding area: the bat cave, enchanted rock, etc. We didn't have time to go to the Nimitz museum. That is a full day visit to see everything.

If you've never been to Fredericksburg, you may wish to stop at the Visitor Center first. They are very friendly and helpful and they can point you in the right direction for where you want to go and what you want to do. They have hundreds of brochures, including an excellent map of the town. The docent who helped us... More

We enjoyed our three day visit to the area. Visited several vineyards, the Pacific War museum, shopped and dined around town. A quaint area, but overall we felt that everything was over-priced! We found the hotels, vineyards, and most of the restaurants to be grossly over-priced for what the area has to offer. When we drove away, we both said...... More

Spent the day strolling through shops as there is a great variety of offerings, had lunch and stopped for home made ice cream, and toured the local German structures including the city center, pioneer village and Sunday houses. Nice stop.

If you need information on the town, they are very helpful at the visitors center. There is plenty of parking. They provided directions to President Johnson's ranch which is now part of the National Park Service. Be sure to tour the Texas Whitehouse while you are in the area.
