The Bavarian Inn we celebrated my birthday and it is also a B&B, Great service & authentic food & beverages. Loved the local artists' gallery downtown plus the Magic Shop and all the other colorful creative shops on Main Street Cutest little ice cream shop also that has over 60 flavors of homemade ice cream.

Just thought you'd all like to know about a couple of little places off of the beaten path in Fredricksburg. We truly enjoyed seeking them out and enjoying them. First for anyone who's craftsy or enjoys art, there is a place called Sandy Jenkins studios that contains a zillion needlepoint and quilt pieces of art (a ladies heaven.) Then from... More

Quaint little town! Lots of German restaurants and bars. Main Street has a lot of little shops to discover. There is also a couple of interesting museums. It's along the river o it's very scenic.

The address is Fredericksburg but to fine it you have to follow signs to "Uptown Luckenbach"! The most memorable part of our west Texas trip was this offbeat shop. The owner, Monroe Behrends, creates handmade crafts while you wait. He sells granite pieces that he etched himself. Be sure and get a "fast armadillo" with you and your sweetheart's names... More

Do yourself a favor and google this online. That way you are able to make a trip when the 2nd museum location is having live shows. They do these quite a few weekends out of the year and are with authentic equipment and actors playing the roles of US Marines and Japanese Soldiers. Seeing this in the center of Tx... More

We came is by recommendation from friends - we enjoyed our stay but were a little surprised at the businesses in town. Guess it was the timing of our stay but many restaurants were closed on Sunday and/or Monday...it just happened that we were there Saturday thru Tuesday. The ones open on Saturday night seemed to close early so we... More

Went to Fredericksburg for the German food. I read the reviews on this site, and couldn't wait to find a German hamlet in the middle of Texas. The two hour drive out there was pretty nice. However, once I got to the actual town of Fredericksburg, I felt the disappointment starting to sink in. After navigating the sidewalks, through the... More
