Spent the day strolling through shops as there is a great variety of offerings, had lunch and stopped for home made ice cream, and toured the local German structures including the city center, pioneer village and Sunday houses. Nice stop.

If you need information on the town, they are very helpful at the visitors center. There is plenty of parking. They provided directions to President Johnson's ranch which is now part of the National Park Service. Be sure to tour the Texas Whitehouse while you are in the area.

Some good shopping and restaurants in this German Immigrant Town. Basically it is a tourist town and popular for beer drinkers.

This towns main street offers excellent buildings to photo, excellent shopping and good food. This city is one that you should visit if you are in the area. Also get off of the main street to view impressive houses and landscape. A really enjoyable stop

This is one of the best visitors information centers I have visited. Informative short movie on all attractions and restaurants presented. The most helpful and friendly staff.

Plenty of parking located across from the Museum of the Pacific War. The people working at the center were very knowledgeable and helpful. Many brochures available for all activities in the area. This is very close to Main St. and I believe you could park your car and leave it here while you enjoy Main St. shopping and eating areas.

We were caught by surprise with the amazing little town! VERY wide streets with 125 year buildings on both sides - someone was planning ahead. We are now planning a full day visit in the Fall. Note there are two Octoberfests that month!
