Don't be fooled into believing this is a "German" town. It is a Texas town with lots of tourist souvenir shops few with "German" things. Leavenworth near Seattle is the real thing not this town!

Fredericksburg is just another small town jewel in a vast Texas. A beautiful drive. Vineyards galore. Main Street is wonderful shopping and sipping. Try the peach wine, Wow! Mom & Daughter were very happy, Dad and credit were under a lot of stress! Seriously a quaint old town that has figured out how to establish themselves as a great attraction using the history of their home town pride in Admiral Nimitz and the long history of their community. The shopping, food and people watching are all worth spending... More

The Bavarian Inn we celebrated my birthday and it is also a B&B, Great service & authentic food & beverages. Loved the local artists' gallery downtown plus the Magic Shop and all the other colorful creative shops on Main Street Cutest little ice cream shop also that has over 60 flavors of homemade ice cream.
