There are lots of good restaurants, shopping, art galleries and wineries to keep anyone busy for a long time. Wildflowers in the spring and great decorations at Christmas. Great museums too. Just a fun place in the hill country.

Lots of shopping, wine tasting, restaurants, and local flavor in this Texas hill country town. We thoroughly enjoyed it and its old German history and touches.

We love Fredericksburg- have to go there every trip we make to San Antonio. Plan to be there around 10am. Most all the stores are open 7 days a week. Make sure you go to Texas Jack's around the corner from Main Street by the park if you are interested in western wear or serious about purchasing a pistol/rifle including... More

I hope my wife doesn't read this review, because she loves Fredericksburg, and I admit that there are parts of it I like as well. Mostly , we go there to take out of town guests to se this quant German enclave. Its a good break to stroll the streets, but we usually come home with some trinket, that I... More

If you haven't been, you really should go! Just be sure to plan ahead because hotels, motels, B&Bs and guest houses fill up early. Two friends and I stayed in a lovely farmhouse a few miles outside of town. We arrived on October 1 and Oktoberfest began October 2. We spent a fun evening enjoying great music, arts and crafts,... Fredericksburg is absolutely wonderful in April and May. The wildflowers are spectacular and they cover the hills and roadside in abundance. Willow city Loop is a must see when your are there.

The visitor center is comparatively better than many we have visited in other cities. The ladies were very friendly and knowledgeable on attractions, accommodations, restaurants and others. The one who served us was very cheerful and laughed all the time. Really brightened up my day after a long drive. Go to the visitor center first before exploring the city.

My boyfriend and I went to Fredericksburg on a whim, and I am honestly not sure if it was in September or otherwise. Either way, we found the information center and as soon as we walked in were greeted by one of the ladies there. She asked if we had been to Fredericksburg before and we said no. She then... More
