The venue is lovely, the tasting room is beautiful but the wine is the worst we have every had. The tasting was expensive at $15 for 5 1/2oz pours..barely 2 sips. Avoid this winery

Torre Di Pietra definitely had the nicest winery on the Texas Wine Trail, with the most comfortable ambiance and fantastic wines. Their intimate setting was cozy and inviting, with plenty of seating options and a big fireplace. If you're going on a winery tour in Texas and you need to decide which ones to stop at, definitely make sure this... More

This is hands down, the WORST winery I've ever visited. The wines smell like dirty dishrags, taste like chemicals, and are muddy in color. In addition, they charged $15 per tasting. They pour 1/2 oz pours, so three of us paid $45 for 9 oz of crappy wine! Are you kidding me???? Seems like they could use these ill-gotten profits... More

Went here because the website said they had tours. -- out of luck this time of year unless you go on a Saturday. Paid the $15 each to taste -- nice wines but a bit pricey for us since we've been all over the country and never paid to taste before at a winery, brewery, or distillery. Guess that's the... More

This winery was the second stop on our wine shuttle route. The tasting room has such a cozy feel. Our server was so sweet and helpful. I really enjoyed the Classico. There was no food truck available but the manager had made complimentary pasta salad for anyone who was interested. And I was! It was delicious and they paired it... More

We had tried a Sangiovese from here previously, so stopped in on a whim during a recent trip to the area. And we are so glad we did! We were met by Judy, who was a delight and added to the experience. The grounds are beautiful and they even had a band playing on Sunday afternoon. Wine tasting fee waived... More

We were fortunate to have Judy as our host. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. We never felt rushed and she was able to fully describe all the wines we tasted. While this is one of the oldest wineries in the area the wines are still "young" and it will take several more years for the flavors to fully develop.... More

My review is similar to Meg Al's from San Antonio on 12/26/14. The reds smell offputting even a little musty. They had a lot of wines with screw tops so smell may not have come from bad corks. The thing is, I found this smell across all the reds I tasted, and I tasted five of them. This is my... More

We visited this winery on our last trip to Fredericksburg. We had the priveledge of having Judy as a server. She was a gracious hostess. The wines were excellent as well. It is worth the trip.

This is a beautiful place for a party or retreat, but make sure you are clear on what you want in your plans and expectations. We were almost forced to switch venues at the last minute due to changes on their part. But in the end, they were able to accommodate us and we had a wonderful party.
