Rancho Ponte is a small-production, family-run winery with 5-acres of vines on a working 20 acre ranch, a beautiful tasting room and a friendly, knowledgeable staff. Our wines have a passionate word-of-mouth following. We specialize in exceptional blends such as our Meritage (Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Malbec, Merlot) and our Sorelline (Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Viognier and Muscat Canelli). Visit us and meet some of the nicest people on the Fredericksburg Wine Road 290!

Perfect for our last stop of the day.....

This new winery had some very good wines. However, it wasn't the wine which attracted me or the adorable black feline...it was the art. Thank you so much for the great experience!

Firstly I was completely ignored whilst the older couple who walked in aways behind me were fawned over. The wine was typical Texas wine, weak and boring, though it's rare I don't find at least one I'm happy to buy a bottle of. I didn't so plumped for the cheese platter instead - a gorgeous hunk of stinky blue cheese... More

The building is very spacious and I liked the place before I even walked in the door. We were there right before closing time but didn't feel rushed at all. We enjoyed all the wines that we tasted and our experience was a pleasant one. It was a great way to end our day and add another glass to our... More

A large tasting room with a wonderful staff that made us feel like friends not customers. DELICIOUS wines.. The covered patio is a lovely place to relax. We especially enjoyed that Kiolbassa Weekend Shish-ka-bobs (complimentary) Our big disappointment was the fact that the Peach Sangria is not something one is able to take home ....it is made fresh at the... I've never bought Texas wines because the price points are such that French and or California wines provide more value, better quality and are bigger and bolder. However, Rancho Ponte certainly surprised me because their red wines were an exception. Their reds are big and bold and can compete with the others and while they are priced more than I... More

While visiting San Antonio with friends we decided to do our own winery tour. This was our second stop. It was OK. The wine was fine, we got to keep our glass, and the young man that served us was easy to talk to and very helpful. Other than that we were not overly thrilled. I am glad we stopped... More

I've always loved this winery. It doesn't try to be exotic or fancy like some of the others in the area. They don't overly boast about their wines or try to run down in the other wineries in the area. They just put some wine out there and hope that you enjoy. Well I enjoyed the wines very much and... Wonderful unpretentious wine makers. The ranchers reserve, gsm, and Merlot are great wines. Smooth finishes not overly complex.

During a recent visit to some area wineries near Fredericksburg, we decided to give Rancho Ponte a try. Honestly, it was a pretty underwhelming experience. Yes, we have our favorites in the area, those places offer great wine and friendly service in a comfortable setting. Neither my husband nor I felt like this place met any of those requirements. The... More

If you haven't stopped into Rancho Ponte - what are you waiting for?! This is smaller winery in comparison to others in the area but they have a good selection of both reds/whites and they offer two ports. A wine tasting includes 6 pours of your choice. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and many days the two owners, Roberto... More
