Whoa! What a view once you get to the top! The climb can be a little difficult at times if you are out of shape but it can be done. Wear comfortable clothing and good tennis shoes. Don't forget to bring water. I would not dare to even attempt this on a hot summer day.

Very limited camping and according to ranger, almost have to have reservations. A lot of scouts and would be good for rock climbers and able bodied that like to walk. We are physically unable to do this kind of trek so can't judge that part, only that there was nothing else to do. About 30 primitive camp sites. Two small... More

We really enjoyed hiking the Loop Trail and then up to the summit. Great exercise and great grounds. We were planning to take the Base Trail but had to abort after coming across a several feet long, 3" thick snake blocking the path. Terrifying!

A visit to Fredericksburg is not complete without seeing Enchanted Rock. The 15 mile drive along hills and curves has lovely vistas and is a treat itself. Go for the drive and enjoy the scenery even if you don't plan to climb the granite dome.

I have climbed this rock more than once. The first time, husband beasties had to actually pull me up the rock, embarrassing me along the way, calling me a wimp, saying I was out of shape, which only made me more determined. Now every time we pass this rock we climb it. Wonderful place to go to, but not if... More

It's a steep hike to the top of Enchanted Rock but we'll worth the forty-five minutes to an hour that it takes. The rock is quite a landmark and from the top presents an excellent view of the surrounding hill country. The hike itself is not terribly rigorous so it may be enjoyed by a visitors of all ages who... More

The second largest monolith behind our own Uluru - well worth a visit. Greak hiking trails, start but beautiful scenery - we really loved it here.

Lots of fun. No matter the weather at the bottom it's going to be much cooler & windy at the top. The climb is not EASY and it is straight up in parts if you try to take the quickest route but I think with a generous amount of breaks and pick your route right you can negate a lot... More

This is by far one of the most tranquil and beautiful places I have been to. We hiked the summit and echo canyon trails. The top of the summit trail is a bit scary, one little slip and it's over for you!! But, so worth it when you see the view.

This park is definitely a must do when in the texas hill country. We set off around 8.30 am on a weekday and there were no queues into the park. The hike is a short but very steep climb to the top of the large rock. We're pretty fit and made it up in less than 15 minutes along the... More
