Middle of summer day we decided to take on the rock! Was well worth it and not as bad of a climb as it appeared from below (for someone our age - LOL). Bring water and have good climbing shoes on! View from the top is fantastic!

We did some camping at Inks Lake so enchanted rock was only a 50 minute drive from the campsite. I wish there was more to do at the rock but we still left satisfied. Kind of a steep climb up to the summit with a nice view all around. If you go in the Summer like we did, take extra... More

Visited with a group of friends on Labor Day weekend. The summit hike is a gentle slop that's easy for anyone in fair condition to walk. Our group of six wore flip flops without any issue- we even saw someone push a stroller to the top. I can see how the rock would be slippery if wet, so take caution... More

The climb was challenging but well worth it. Go early as it gets hot quickly. Make sure to take plenty of water.

Beautiful rock formations, great hiking trails and rugged camping around the rock and a beautiful view from the top of the rock. Plan to reach the summit as the sun is setting for a beautiful photo opportunity. Bring plenty of water and wear good hiking shoes.

Climbing Enchanted Rock one gets the sense you are walking in the footsteps of ancient people. The granite dome doesn't echo, adding to the mystique! Be sure and get there early as the parks popularity can cause them to close to further visitors that day. Also carry water if you go on a warm day. I promise the views are... More

This is one location our out-of-state visitors want to visit when they come. It is unique in the Texas Hill Country and provides greta views and wonderful exercise. Come early to beat the crowds.

I visited Enchanted Rock in August and headed to it in the late afternoon hoping it would be a little cooler. The entry fee is $7 per person and there was plenty of parking. The climb is steep but in places but doesn't take long. There are great views once you reach the top and some love photo spots. I... More
