A false reality of a few cows being lead along the street apparently twice a day evert day so that it is a learned routine. Seems an unnatural life for these interesting longhorn animals especially in the heat of summer. An experience though for those who live in cities more so than rural people.

It was a short cattle drive but worth to see the long horns through the historic district. Cowboys with there horses sat out on the streets for you to visit with them before and after the cattle drives. They handed out cards about various cattle in the herd with facts on them.

what an amazing part of what Fort Worth is. Is never gets old to see the cowboys and the old cows make their way down the road!

The cattle drive heads down Exchange right in front of the colosseum and most of the attractions in the Stockyards. The herd was about 40 or so longhorns being lead by a group of cowboys on horseback. Its a pretty cool thing to see so have your camera ready. The cattle drive route is pretty short though, so don't be... More

We drove from Dallas to Ft. Worth to watch "the Herd" & got there just in time to park where the street was blocked off. By the time I got out with my camera & took a few pics, the "herd" was already gone & down the street. It lasts about 5 minutes, so don't be late. True, you don't... More

What can I say? It's free, well-managed, right on time, easy to watch. We were there during the week (pm drive) so probably less busy than weekend. So the herd isn't big - it was more Texas Longhorns all in one place than we had ever seen, and there were 8 cowboys/girls decked out in western wear driving them. Worth... More

If your kids are expecting a lot of cattle... they may be disappointed! This is defiantly a mini herd of cattle. It was a fun experience but short. We made the mistake of watching from the area where the herd started, and so after a few seconds, all there was to see was... cattle rears!

The daily drive of the Fort Worth Herd through Cowtown is a sight everyone will enjoy It is particularly a weldome sight and highly photographed by "city slickers" who have never been around cattle or a working herd.

I've lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex many years and had not gone to see the daily cattle drive until this past month. Loved it! I was not very happy with my photos due to the sun not cooperating, so I'll be going back there some overcast day soon. :-) It was fun to watch the longhorns walk down the... More
