Very cool sight!

My husband and I spent the weekend in the Stockyards and enjoyed the cattle drive! It is a brief look back into the history of the cattle drives. A must see if in the area!

I'd heard a lot about this on previous trips to the Metroplex. It was worth seeing the 15 or 20 longhorns go down a couple blocks since we were there for other things. But really glad we didn't make a special trip for this!

This is a twice daily free show Fort Worth puts on. The cattle of Longhorns are walked down the main road being guided by a few cowboys riding their horses. OK if you are there but personally speaking wouldn't make a special trip.

The herd was one thing on my list I wanted to see while in Fort Worth. The longhorns are emblematic of Texas! Of course, being in aww for cows can sound silly but the longhorns are impressive animals and make great photos. The herd passes through Main Street twice a day and I could see about 20 of them each... More

This is a tourist attraction for sure. It is staged but it is something free to see in Fort Worth. Kids would enjoy it for sure. They ride down the Main Street 2 times a day with aprox 26 steer and 4 cowboys. While waiting there are shops to go into and even get your picture taken with the steer... More

We timed our visit to the Stock Yards to catch the herd. The herd pulls through at two different times of the day (11:30 and 4:00). The only thing we had to pay for was the parking. My son was delighted to watch the herd walk through the center of the Stock Yards. The parking charge is a bit steep,... More

Loved this unique and something I have never witnessed before. The cowboys and wranglers add to the event, which wasn't overcrowded either. Be 10 minutes or so early if you don't want to be in the sun.

We came to Dallas as Australians for 4 nights. Feeling as though Dallas was a bit devoid of personality we headed to the stockyard for some corny, Texan personality. And it was awesome. Cowboys, bulls and a show three times a day. I got exactly what I wanted as a tourist traveling on a flight for 15 hours. It's a... More

Long horns are linked to the image of Texas. However is not easy to find a place to see them live. If you are close to Fort Worth and have never seen this cattle before, by all means, go see the heard. Yes, it is small. Yes it lasts only 5 min, but it is free and you will have... More

It is good for those who have never seen this type of lifestyle. The "cowboys" are dressed the part, but it is slightly over rated coming from a real life rancher.
