We stayed at the Stockyards RV "Park". They really shouldn't be allowed to call that a Park. It's nothing more than one row of parking spaces with hook-ups. We drove past it for several times, because we didn't recognize is as an RV Park. It was right next to the railways and the loud honking trains kept us up all... More

This was a real interesting place in reading about its history and seeing the "Long Horn" Cattle that they parade thru the streets by Cowboys twice a day. Those Long Horn Cattle are big and interesting. The "Flea Market" is now a bargain center with a lot of restaurants and interesting shops.

We went during the week, so there wasn't much extra happening, but we had a great time. Lots of history, lots of shopping, and lots of good food.

Whenever you are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area you should take the time to visit the "stockyards" as it is locally called. Long ago the "longhorn" cattle was brought by the long cattle drives of yesteryear along the Chisholm Trail. However, today, it is an historical landmark offering visitors an exciting opportunity to experience the Old West in an authentic... More

We arrived on a pleasant weather weekday in early February and there were no crowds to contend with. We immediately ate lunch and then roamed the great shops,I mean great), in the stockyard area before arriving at the area to see the long-horn drive. The cattle were all in their pens and we were able to see them before they... More

I have been working in a near-by town for 5 months with people asking, "You been to the stockyards?" I wish I had been sooner because I loved it. Coming from the South and raised around animals, I felt right at home. It has the feel of the old west with the rustic town buildings and the smell of manure.... More

Be prepared to have to pay for parking for the day. And also know that everything costs money- except if you are just walking around. They definitely become borderline tourist-trap-esque by charging $5.00 to sit on cattle. Really? The buildings are beautiful, though. Worth the trip there.

The Ft. Worth Stockyards is a must go to place to bring out of town company. Everyone who we have brought just loved it. If you don't want to drive you can catch the Tarantula Express in Grapevine and add the experience of riding in an old time railcar. Our grandkids thought it was "very neat". The Stockyards have the... More

The weather was perfect for our afternoon at the stockyard. We stopped in the local shops, admired the horses etc, and ate a great meal at a local salon.
