As a native of Fort Worth, I've been coming here at least once a year for a long time. Located on the north end of Lake Worth, you can nature watch, fish, hike, bike and go kayaking. I usually go to fish and hike, but every trip starts with a visit to the Interpretive Center. There you will see various... More

Watch the Star Telegram or the Nature Center's facebook or website for the indigenous snakes and critter presentations that the herpetology people do. As newcomers to the state, we found this to be very helpful. We needed to know what we were sharing our new digs with and they had everything from snakes to spiders and scorpions. We couldn't recommend... More

I kayak at the FtW Nature Center frequently. It is a great opportunity to see Flora and Fauna in TX as well as wildlife. Access to the water is adequate and parking is sufficient. I am sure it can get crowded on nice spring days but I have not experienced. There are a number of hiking trails that are easy... More

Drive around first, then park and hike. Watch out for the poison Ivy. The little information center has live examples of what you might see as you take your adventure.

We love coming out here to paddle up and down the river in our kayaks and just enjoying the beauty of nature here that's just a short drive from Downtown Fort Worth. There are several hiking trails and good bike riding.

I went with my 7 year-old daughter in mid-August and we were both impressed with the expansive trails and wildlife. We had fun and that is what counts. Of course it was hot, but nonetheless there was much to see. I would defiantly recommend this spot over a zoo as the beauty is in being able to do one's own... More

My first experience at the Fort Worth Nature Center will not be my last! I was amazed at the number of hiking trails and wildlife that you can see and enjoy. This is a great place for kids because the hiking is not difficult by any means and lots of clear trails are accessible by all. The Marsh Boardwalk is... More

I liked the expansive land there was to explore, I had a 2year old and this was hard on me. I either had to have here walk or carry her. I would recommend this for your outdoor activity if you have children older. I gave my oldest grandsons a nature seekers list i obtained online before we got to the... More

We love kayaking up to the Ten Mile Bridge and back we saw deer and a ten foot gator, my kids saw a deer swim across the river by the canoe launch.
