Wonderful hikes for all levels and we were able to see the bison calf, only a month old! What a fabulous park...

There are many activities for children and adults. Canoeing, hiking trails, nature classes, interpretive center. It is one of the best kept secrets in Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth Nature Center is huge! We went for several hours and were only able to explore a few of the 12 trails. Prairie Dog town is amazing as we saw countless prairie dogs (many of which were babies), as is the handful of caged rescued animals around the visitor center. Trails were nicely varied in difficulty and not-too... More

We have been going to the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge for many, many, many years...ever since our daughters were very little (they are full grown and we have 4 grandchildren). There are many wonderful trails and different things to see throughout the year. My two favorite seasons are Fall and Spring. In the Fall, I love walking the... More

Great trails, good hiking and biking. Lots of wildlife. Nice nature center with very good programs. They also have some guided kayaking tours. I haven't been on those but I would imagine they would be lots of fun.

This is a great park for hiking with over twenty miles of trails. Some through woods and briars, some along the water, and some through a small canyon. There is also a trail out to an island and a boardwalk through the marsh. I saw deer and bison there, and was only mildly disappointed not to see the armadillo and... More

Bring snacks and binoculars when you visit the Nature Center. I did not see an area where you can grill or picnic, but maybe there is one-- in any case, since you can spend a lot of time here I recommend bringing along something to keep your strength up. There are miles of trails, an interpretive center, boardwalk, and areas... More

It's nice to have a nature getaway so close to the city. I love to hike and this place has wonderful trails and bonus wild animals. The buffalo are a sight to behold. The prairie dog colony is pretty cool but they can be hard to catch but such a treat when they are out and about.
