Hi John - thank you for coming out while you were visiting Fort Worth. I'm sorry to read that you were somewhat disappointed. Summer is not our best season; I hope that you'll try us again if you return to this area when it's cooler. More

We love kayaking up to the Ten Mile Bridge and back we saw deer and a ten foot gator, my kids saw a deer swim across the river by the canoe launch.

I love to go hiking here. It's so close to home, but it feels that I should be further out of the city than I really am. It's so quiet and peaceful, my husband and I visit together, or the dog and I go for a hike. Beautiful place!

Just a short trip from Fort Worth, you can disappear into the wilds of the Nature Center. There are bison, alligators, deer, and numerous other creatures to be seen. There are hiking trails to enjoy at your leisure. They often offer special tours and educational opportunities throughout the year.

Love this place. Its a several hundred acres of woods, prairie and river front. Great hikes along the river trails, but my favorite is the Canyon Ridge Trail. Good place for bike riding too. The Visit Center is nice, but don't expect a big gift shop and there is no food served on site. There are some picnic tables by... More

This is a nice place to see more of the true Texas environment. We were there on a very warm day, so we did not see buffalo and we didn't hike much. However, we did take a short hike to see the prairie dogs. It's only a few miles from the ridgemar/TCU area.

I visited the refuge for the first time this weekend and it surpassed my expectations. The walking trails were very easy and relaxing to walk, and I enjoyed seeing what the lands looked like in the area prior to mass urbanization. The special surprises were the bison, which I had never seen up close before, and the prairie dog square.... More

My kids were raised hiking at the Nature Center. I was so glad that they started charging admission because it has really made the place cleaner! (and now there are more toilets) Buy the yearly membership for a family of 4 for $75 for a year or pay $5 an adult per time. I love the buffalo/ prairie dogs and... More

Having visited family in Fort Worth for 13 years, we never had been to the Nature Center until now. What a wonderful place! The lovely autumn day was perfect for walking the trails and enjoying the calm and serenity of this oasis in the Metroplex. We especially loved the marsh with its swirling grasses and meandering boardwalk, the cute little... More
