What an experience. We enjoyed going through the streets of shops where you can purchase beautiful saddles made right there, boots, fine jewelry and a must to purchase a cowboy hat. People were so friendly. Steaks and BBQ is out of this world. Take a ride through the old part of the stockyards in a horse and buggy ride. You... More

If you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, a nice way to spend the Sat afternoon. We went at 4PM to watch the live-cattle walk the Main street, strolled around the area/shops and then went to the rodeo. The rodeo is fun to watch and quite impressive!

We enjoyed our day here even though most of the restaurants were closed Janurary 1, the day we went. The longhorn walk through the Main Street was impressive. I did a bit of shopping and we had dinner at Riscky's. It was delicious. We went back on the Friday night to the rodeo which I am glad we did. It... More

Went to the rodeo in Dec and it was more than a bit chilly outside, temp inside was almost uncomfortably warm, thin the team opened up a few doors towards the end of the first part as a breeze blew through. That aside, what a great night out, what these folk do with horses and cows is bordering unbelievable. A... More

Enjoyed the rodeo a lot. Can see how it might get boring for someone not in to horses/Western culture towards the end, especially since they had bull riding both at the beginning and end of the show. We had very inexpensive box seats which were nice, if not for the extremely strange people sitting next to us (a drunken old... More

We really enjoyed the Rodeo. The bull riding was something else and Cowboy Hats off to the young men riding those animals! We loved seeing the Rodeo Clowns - they job is really very skillful- we had no idea. The kids felt sorry for the calves who were being roped, but hey this is Texas and I assured them that... More

We are not American and we went to see the rodeo. It was fascinating, the skill levels of the professionals and the amateurs really made this a great show. You might think you know what happens in a rodeo from TV, but nothing beats seeing it in person. Tip - get a seat at the railing near the spot where... More

Easy fun way to spend a evening, have some food in the Stockyards area, watch the cowboys strut their stuff very close to the action.

If I hadn't actually been to a real rodeo I might have enjoyed this better. There were a variety of events like bronco riding and calf roping. But you could tell that since it was only an exhibition and not a competition and it felt like they really didn't care.
