The Fort Worth Zoo is a local favorite, and one of the best zoo's you'll find in the U.S. The environment is well laid out with lots of diverse wildlife for visitors to see, and you can tell from the employees that the animals are all well cared for. They love their jobs to keep such a great zoo going.... More

Be ready to walk and climb to see the animals. There are a lot of inclines to go up and down. Also avoid on really hot days as there is a lot of bamboo which blocks the air flow. They do have mister spread out and about but it can get very hot.

I have 4 kids, so zoos are a pretty standard place to visit. We have been to more renowned zoos, bigger zoos, smaller zoos. But I would rank Fort Worth at or near the top of the list. The layout definitely takes the Texas heat into account. There was plenty of shade and cooling stations with fans and misters. There... More

Numerous varieties, be prepared to take extra money for overpriced food and drinks though, having said that very good experience overall

This is was on the best zoo's I've ever been to. Well laid out, very clean and lots of animals. My favorite animals are monkeys. They have a very nice primate area. It's very affordable. Plenty to do so it even with a full parking lot, it doesn't feel crowded.

My friend and I had the pleasure of visiting the Ft Worth Zoo on July 19th. It was an overcast day and it didn't get hot at all, so this was a perfect day to go. It was my first time going and even though I have only been to one other zoo(San Antonio), I was impressed. I loved how... More

We love this zoo! The animals have so much room to roam, and it is so well planned. We visit every time we go to Fort Worth - at least three times a year - and sometimes more than once in a visit. Be sure to plan at least a full day. You won't be disappointed.

I haven't been to this zoo, in about 20 years? It has expanded tremendously and it was nice for all ages. The admission was reasonable, and so much better then the zoo in San Antonio, where I will never go back. (very few open areas, you get to see the animals through an opening in the brick wall?) I liked... More

Baby elephants. Had never seen one & got to see 2 instead. Wife had seen Bluebonnet so she went to stare at hippos. Daughter & I couldn't get enough of them. This zoo is one place we stop if we are in DFW. Of course we are zoo addicts. But this is one of the best. The Museum of Living... More

Very nice, well kept zoo. A lot of walking but it's worth it. Very hot out in July but fortunately they have the water misters throughout the walk. The admission price was very reasonable, drinks and food were normal zoo prices. Fort Worth Zoo is a great place to visit!
