Located in the Denton County Courthouse, where the Denton County Commissioners Court still meets, is a small, but nice county history and culture museum. I live in Denton so I've visited the museum several times. The main space is changed periodically, the current theme is Common Threads. This exhibit showcases cities and towns in the county with a perspective on... More

The museum is very interesting with knowledgeable volunteers there to share additional information. The building has an elevator for easy access to the basement and other floors.

The museum inside the magnificent Denton Courthouse takes one back in time to the early 19th century when Denton was first settled. It traces the development of Denton and several other small neighboring towns and the influence that the railroads and agriculture had on the community. Denton is an amazingly diverse and interesting town which is rich in its culture... More

Music and fellowship for young people all four sides of the square. Resturants, Bars, Houka Bars, Oxigen Bars, Pizza, Hamburgar joints. In the day time it is business that the general public uses. P.S. I live in Denton. so following comments mean very little.

It was neat to see how Denton Developed from its beginning stages to what it is today. The courthouse is a wonderful piece of Denton's history, culture, and architecture.

The Courthouse is the center and a symbol of Denton. It really is the heartbeat of our community. It brings people together and reminds us of the beauty and longevity of Denton.

We had a wander around the square, with the impressive Courthouse Museum. Unfortunately, the museum itself was closed, but we enjoyed seeing the bits of historical information on the outside, as we walked around. It was a nice little stop to stretch our legs during a long day's driving. There is certainly a lot of history here.

We followed the link on trip advisor and the Denton Courthouse said there was no site for that address and museum. When I did a search, I found this link to be active and to the museum site. http://dentoncounty.com/Departments/History-and-Culture/Office-of-History-and-Culture/Denton-County-Museums.aspx Unfortunately, we found this after we drove 15 miles to check out the museum. We did see the sign on the... More

The courthouse museum is full of interesting facts on the city of Denton, Texas dating back to the early 1800's. It sits right on the historic downtown square, surrounded by little shops and places to eat or just get coffee, or adult beverage. At Christmas time, the town tree is placed here along with all of the other lights and... More
