This is part of the "old Dallas" that one can still find. There is one large furniture store that one might refer to an the anchor for this area. Then there are lots of restaurants , unfortunately many are chain or franchise but if you look around you can probably locate a neighborhood restaurant that will be worth a stop.... More

Recently took my mother over here because I found out they have an old fashioned soda fountain like the ones she grew up with. Had a good time at Highland Park Soda Fountain. There is tons of shopping in this area too of high end places. Easy parking and nice restaurants as well.

There is something for everyone here big box stores, chain restaurants or if you came to Dallas to enjoy the local offerings there are some great local spots. 2 Tapas restaurants right in the area, Sur la Table cooking store just around the block, Wild about Harry's one of the best ice cream shops and most will argue it is... This is a unique blend of progressive modern, with vintage Dallas. The bars and restaurants are very diverse, just like its city that host's them. Anything from foreign pubs, to local eats and a taste of Pure Americana. Bars all walking distance from each other, parking is limited but valet available at any spot. A must visit for any tourist... We only had time to drive through and around, but what a great area with so many shops and restaurants. Will come back when we can shop and eat.

Always love to stroll along Knox Henderson. Fun name-brand stores with unusual boutiques in between. We almost always have lunch at Ziziki's tucked into Travis Walk. The courtyard seating is lovely and quiet. Since not many places serve lamb and even fewer do it well, it's nice to be able to depend on Ziziki's for delicious lamb in several great... More

There are a couple of restaurants I like here, a Sushi place and a Cuban place. I am thinking that doesn't help my fans out there, however. I'll try to find the names and edit this post later, if they allow it.

There's a lot of food choices in this area but the parking is far more difficult than almost any other area of Dallas. Great German style steak house, Hoffbrau's moved out. The Highland Park Pharmacy is still there and they have the best grilled cheese, old fashioned club sandwiches and pimento cheese sandwiches plus malts at their old fashioned soda... More

Many great restaurants and cafes. Great place to hang out with friends and for shopping. Check the menu before you get a table since prices vary as well as the food.
