On the east side of Central Expressway are the less expensive but nontheless good independent eateries. On the west side skip the two chain restaurants and try ANY of the other restaurants that are mostly within a stone's throw of each other. My favorite is Toulouse...a very Paris experience.

There is an abundance of choices for eating and shopping here. If you get parking you can spend half a day window shopping in all the stores. A great little area that gets overlooked sometimes.

Knox-Henderson Streets, right of of Highway 75, is probably the best area in all of the Big D to kick it! Several options for food and drinks......I've lived in Dallas for 25 years - when I go out - this is the place I start, then I finish up in Lakewood at the Arcade Bar. Best place to start is...

I remember when there wasn't much going on then Crate & Barrel moved in and all of the sudden other hip and trendy stores did too. Awesome shopping and dining!
