My favorite place to run! Park a few miles away, run the lake loop, and head out. It's nice to get off the streets and take in the vies of the lake. Plenty of water and bathrooms. Lots of parking even when there are events. I've always felt safe running just before dawn and during the day. Decent place to... More

This is an area I went to as a child. It is still beautiful and well-kept. This is a safe area to walk, run, picnic or just people watch.

Extremely Clean with pure water we rarely see anymore. The lake is a playing field for those lucky enough to discover, including the locals.another must see.

Great for bicycling - you can do the whole lake easily. You are likely to see a lot of people with dogs and I even saw someone waling an iguana once! The lake is a nesting ground for the brown Pelicans and they are always fun to watch.

Paved trail all the way around. Parking at the Arboretum is $8, and people park in the next lot to save the $$ and hike over, so you have to arrive very early to park on the east side of the park. The west side is always open for parking.

This is a great area that while in the city limits you can get the feel that you are miles away. The lake is normally clean looking and the area around the lake is likewise. This is just a good area away from all the hustle and bustle where you can relax for several hours before getting back in to... More

I used to bike around this lake daily when we lived in Dallas. I miss it terribly. We drove around it to show my mom and kids where Mommy used to ride and to look at the beautiful scenery. Just gorgeous! And it was Bluebonnet season!
