We came at an off time--12 on a Monday. The staff was friendly and we could sample as many wines as we wanted (paying for each of course). The wines were well priced and there was a large selection. The staff was very knowledgable about the different wines. I hear the restaurant is very good but it is closed Mondays... More

We ate lunch at the restaurant on a Saturday. I got the Caesar salad. Husband got the burger. His burger was very big, cooked to his liking and very good. My salad was good. Passed on adding meat. They serve complimentary bread and dipping oil. It was so good, we had to make ourselves stop before we filled up on... More

Nothing out of the ordinary for a wine tasting and tour. Enjoy port wine. White wines were kinda bland. Staff was friendly. Pricing reasonable.

We arrived as a group of 6. Never having been there before I took a lead from another in our group. We declined the tour of the winery due to one our group being somewhat handicapped and didn't bring her wheelchair. We stayed in main building and sampled some wine. One can sample 3 wines for a small fee. The... More

For two reasons I had low expectations going to Messina Hof, but other travelers we had spoken too were so complimentary, I felt it was worth the try. Wine is a subjective, personal thing I know, but my experience with most Texas wines is not too good: I usually find the whites too light or sweet, and the reds too... More

The information about the history of wine making in Texas was interesting. The trip outside to see the vines and then inside for the vats was quick but informative. The wine tasting in the souvenir glass was great. We also visited the lobby of the bed and breakfast and heard about the history of the decor. My group ate at... More

We were not expecting much from a winery in the middle of Texas, but were very pleasantly surprised! The property is beautiful, with the Villa interesting in that it feels as though you are in Europe somewhere as it has gorgeous European furnishings and decorations. We did the Winery tour which was very informative, and the wine tasting was superb.... More

It was Sunday after my daughter's graduation and we just wanted to spend some relaxing time together so we headed to Messina Hof not knowing what to expect. We wandered into the visitor center/store and noticed an interesting area off to the side, It was a wine bar. There were maybe 6 other people sitting around chatting when we noticed... More

We love wineries and how owners and winemakers create their own particular mark on the industry. This is a lovely setting with great ports. We try to keep to the wines that the winery does best. In this case, ports! The Tawny Port was exquisite followed closely by the Reserve Private Reserve Papa Paulo Port. The latter is better with... More

The Messina Hof Winery produces some of the best award winning wine in Texas and even the USA. The winery also includes a first class restaurant and bed & breakfast. It is probably the third most important attraction to Bryan/College Station after Texas A&M and the Bush Library. Worth the trip for any wine lover.
