Messina Hof is a fine family run winery where I tried several of their gems. The pinot noir and cab were my favorites. The GHW/Bush Merlot had a nice nose and good taste.

They have some really excellent wines available for tasting in the hospitality room. Skipped the formal tour because it is overpriced at $12.50 per person and includes 4 tastings ($10 value) but big part of tour is promoting their bed and breakfast. Overall our stop was enjoyable. Skipped the restaurant due to limited time.

We are local folks (College Station) who love most M.H. wines--especially, their table reds and port. And, yes, we've done the tour--it was fine. But, the pinot grigio...well, GAG ME WITH A CORKSCREW! So raw and dry, may have to pour the rest down the sink (first time ever). Hereafter, will buy the $4 special at Wal-Mart.

While recently visiting friends in Katy Texas we took a Sunday day trip to this fine winery in Bryan Texas. From first stepping foot into their impressive store/wine tasting room to the winery tour to a walking tour of the grounds to enjoying a glass of wine in their wine bar, the entire experience was lovely and quite memorable. The... More

If you’re looking for a romantic European theme in your Texas winery visits, you have to stop at Messina Hof Winery. With a blend of Italian and German styles to the buildings’ architecture, you’ll feel like you’ve found that restful respite from the hectic Houston work week. With a blend of two family heritages, Sicilian and German, they have brought... More

We came at an off time--12 on a Monday. The staff was friendly and we could sample as many wines as we wanted (paying for each of course). The wines were well priced and there was a large selection. The staff was very knowledgable about the different wines. I hear the restaurant is very good but it is closed Mondays... More

We ate lunch at the restaurant on a Saturday. I got the Caesar salad. Husband got the burger. His burger was very big, cooked to his liking and very good. My salad was good. Passed on adding meat. They serve complimentary bread and dipping oil. It was so good, we had to make ourselves stop before we filled up on... More

Nothing out of the ordinary for a wine tasting and tour. Enjoy port wine. White wines were kinda bland. Staff was friendly. Pricing reasonable.

We arrived as a group of 6. Never having been there before I took a lead from another in our group. We declined the tour of the winery due to one our group being somewhat handicapped and didn't bring her wheelchair. We stayed in main building and sampled some wine. One can sample 3 wines for a small fee. The... More
