My boyfriend and I came here for a day as a cowboy and had a phenomenal time! The Cowboys were wonderful and we loved getting to hang out with the horses and ride through the hills. The game room was fun and we enjoyed feeding the Longhorns. It was a great mix of structured time and free time! We highly... More

My family, husband, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and 3 teenagers, spend New Year's day doing the half day dude ranch adventure. Everyone has a great time. The owner, Larry Cortez, is amazing. He is funny, kind, great story-teller and the best cowboy I have ever met. There were enough activities to keep busy- roping, horse back riding, wagon ride to feed long... More

We spent a half day at Rancho Cortez with three young children (9, 7 and 3). I can't say enough good things about our experience! Butch was our guide for the day, was a ton of fun, completely tuned in to our boys and their experience, as well as ours. We had a great trail ride, the littlest guy got... More

I guess I should start by saying that I was expecting to see a working ranch which this isn't. I clearly didn't read the website very well. booking from the UK was very easy and the even managed to get my fiancé on a horse which isn't an easy task. Because I was with 2 beginners, the ride was kept... More

Reading through these reviews I can't believe no one writes about BUTCH the wrangler. Anyway, we booked a half a day for the 4 of us, as it turned out, we were the only 4 in the group WHICH WAS GREAT!!! We spent the day with our own personal cowboy BUTCH.... He was the nicest, friendliest, funniest person.... We had... More

Did a half day visit which included a trail ride, lasso lessons, dinner, haywagon ride to feed the cattle, campfire, etc. This was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had! 1st time riding a horse and I loved it. Staff was super, so kind and helpful! The owner, Larry, was a hoot !! Straight forward and down to... More

I definitely want to return to rancho cortez someday, myself and my family had a blast on our day trip, with two trail rides, great food, friendly staff, a spirited owner, and end of the day campfire. The wagon ride to feed the cattle was fun as well.

Hoarse ride up cliff was great fun, food was fabulous. If weather is chilly or raining not a lot to do so watch the forecast. Chris was a great guide and my children loved the experience. A must see.

With my husbands work schedule we could not stay over night but luckily we are only 1.5 hours away so we were able to spend the day there. Everyone was friendly from check in until we left after the campfire. We enjoyed the horseback riding and the beautiful views. We brought our (exchange student) son with us who had never... More

We stayed on the ranch doe three days with my teenage grand children and daughter and her husband. We had a great time . They were very helpful in getting us to do the trail rides. As I was a big chicken to ride the horses they even gave me some private lessons. The food was very good but you... More
