I had forgotten how terrific this bar was until I walked down those stairs again last Saturday. Nothing has changed, same pictures, same neons, same bar, same tables, same smoky smell. If you are ready to take a glimpse back in history, please give this place a try & you will be BLESSED with very cold beer (or wine), old... More

It's ok if you like partying in a crowded basement with your grandparents and all their friends. Band was mediocre. Dance floor is almost nonexistent. Not enough room to play pool on the pool table. I'd skip this place if you're a non smoker.

We went early in the day due to our schedule, the place felt exactly how an old, honky tonk, cowboy establishment should. The breakfast club was there, and everyone in the place was friendly. If you want that small town bar that time forgot, go here. And take a look at the Hank Williams carving.

Wellllll, if you have not been to Arkey's, then you really have not seen the Old West! This is undoubtedly the most historic of all places I have ever been. It is straight out of the old west, where the Silver Dollar Bar is under (yep I said under) the old Country Store. You walk in and go downstairs to... More

Unless you are going to see a 40+year old bar with all kinds of stuff on the walls, sawdust on the floor and stale smoke from 40+years ago. This place is not for you.

It's a nice cool place to just sit down cool off and have a cold beer plus the band is very good. If you like country music.

We were staying at a guest ranch near Bandera TX and were looking for something interesting to do during the day. Most bars seem to accommodate only the late night folk, and our group wasn't part of that scene. So happy we discovered the Silver Dollar Bar. We stopped for a soda on both Saturday and Sunday, and were tickled... More

We stayed in Banderas for a night. It is a small texan town, a true cowboy experience. For the ultimate in genuine cowboy singing, go to Arkey Blue's Silver Dollar Bar. Here you will meet the locals and maybe grab a Lone Star or preferably a Coors with them - we did! Awesome with the sawdust on the floor.

This was a fun place to visit for a drink or two. The staff were lovely, making conversation and asking questions. They have a good selection of drinks and has that true Texas feel about it. Just like in the movies!!

Stopped by for some day-drinking and to witness a nice jam session. There were about 40-50 folks hanging out on a Spring Break Saturday around 2:00pm. No liquor here (like 11th street), so beer and wine will have to be your poison. Very cool place, though. Beware, if you're sensitive to smoke, cuz the bars in Bandera are smokin'!!
