One of the most beautiful parkways we have ever driven. Great stops and view points along the way. Some of the Great Smoky Mountains and some of Maryville and valley below. It is on a ridge that winds gently up and down against the mountains filled with green trees and clouds that look like smoke.

We happened across the Foothills Parkway completely by accident thanks to a Google Map reroute but we couldn't have asked for a better view of the Smokies. Unobstructive views with very few visitors allowed us to get some incredible photos and an amazing experience for the boys (ages 10 and 6). They are still taking about it.

Make sure you don't miss the look out rock. Climb to the top and enjoy the view. When we were there, we were right in the clouds, and we watched them move over the valley.

Very pleasant drive through the smokies. Not crowded at all. Would definitely take this drive again. There's some nice hikes off it as well.

The parkway has a number of overlooks, so bring your camera. If you enter from the Townsend TN side, be sure to drive the entire length of the parkway. It is beautiful at any time of the day. At nighttime, you can see the entire city of Maryville.

I read all of the reviews of the foothills parkway before visiting the area and I really expected it to be something special, but it's really nothing more than a windy road that's way out of the way. Pretty views but nothing I couldn't see from my cabin.

Just a winding road. No food, cell service, bathrooms. Not the greatest scenery either. Not pleased at all waste of a trip.

Foothills parkway is just a road and it takes you out in the middle of no where. No Gas Station no food and no cell phone service.
