This was one of our favourite activities on holidays this time. We were a little concerned as we had never done a river tube before and one of my kids was a bit nervous that it would be fast moving water. It was perfect. Relaxing with just the right amount of little "rapids" (I would not even really call them... More

I was concerned about being a little old for this but really enjoyed it. I would not do it in low water the rocks are super slippery and high water would scare me with kids. I would put younger kids in life vests because the water can get deep. This place may be a few dollars more but it was... More

This was the quietest river float we have been on. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Only go got to float 1 1/2 trips before the bottom fell out, but very nice trip. The tubes with the bottoms made floating so much easier. Will visit again!!

The humidity was so high and hiking in the mountain trails takes a lot out of you. However floating down a cold mountain river was the perfect way to cool down. The crew at River Rat is very friendly has really good customer service. The river was running pretty good when we went and we never had to walk. It... More

We thought we were getting the lowest priced float-but instead got the most expensive-float trips are unlimited-but exit out of river was dreadful! Watch area signs for price comparisons! Skip staying in Pigeon Forge and stay here in Townsend!

We called ahead and were told conditions were perfect. This proved to be correct! We had a blast! Our family has an 11 yr old boy and 17 yr old girl so sometimes it is difficult to please both but this activity did the trick! Buy the push stick. It came in handy! Water shoes are a must also!

We had a great afternoon on the river and a very nice experience with River Rats. The staff was friendly and helpful and the bus was waiting to shuttle us back after we finished. We could have gone down again but 1 lazy trip was about all of the time we had for the day. We liked that there were... More

We decided on the spur of the moment to spend the day on the river. The staff were all very friendly, at both locations. If you come in from Gatlinburg you'll find an hour long trip down the Little River. Ride that one for rapids and some speed. Once you're done there, drive down to the location closest to Pigeon... The people who work here are fantastic! Super fun, friendly, and helpful. My family of 11, (6 adults and 5 kids) had a blast. Our only complaint was that the river was low (but no fault of the river rat). The tubes with bottoms in it for the younger kids, and the tethers were awesome, the 2 three-years olds had... More

There are many tubing places in Townsend but this place was great. The trip down river takes about three hours. The rapids were not too dangerous but they were fun. They have tubes with bottoms for small children and a cord to link tubes together so little ones don't get lost. The buses were waiting when you get out so... More
