The underground lake really makes the Lost Sea the most unique cave I've ever been in, and I've been in a lot. The lake is just so unexpected. I've been to a lot of tourist caves, and I have the attitude that the advertisements are probably just hyped, but the LOST SEA lived up to it's billing. Truth in advertising,... more

After hearing the hype of the Lost Sea, skeptical sightseers can expect to be enlightened and informed of historical factors that lie hidden in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The Lost Sea’s history and current mysteries make the caverns one of the most sought after roadside attractions in Tennessee. This landmark is located off of I-75 in the... more

A cave with a difference, and that's the lost sea. A large underground lake that you get to ride around on a boat. Worth the time to stop here, and the slightly high entry fee. more

This is a must see if you are in the area. We were lucky to get here a little late on Sat. and were one of the last groups to go through. No wait, went in as soon as we got there. I really liked the tour. more

We just got back from our trip to The Lost Sea. This is my 2nd trip because I went 15 years ago as well. My son, who is 7, is really into caves right now so we thought we would take him. It was fun. The actual "sea" is lower than I remember. The guide told us that it was... more

Sure there are caves all over the mountains. But how many can say they have the largest underground lake in America? The story of the cavern itself is worth going for. Please don't pass this one up. You won't be sorry! more

We always passed the billboards advertising this out of the way attraction when traveling on I-75 and said we would do it someday. We decided to make the drive since it was a stormy day in the Smokies and we didn't have anything planned. Like all things right now, it seemed a little pricey, but it was certainly cheaper than... more

This cave is not really full of formations and not as interesting as some, but it has an underground lake that you get to take a boat out on, so it's worth the trip. There is a small waterfall inside the cave also which is neat. Our tour guide was not particularly enthusiastic, but some of the others seemed more... more

The facts: A 1 hour to 1.5 hour tour of cavern with massive rooms, including one that was created by an underground whirlpool. Approximately 15 minutes are spent on an underground lake stocked with rainbow trout brought in every 2 to 3 years (they cannot reproduce in the lake). Tickets are a little over $15 each for adults. Important tip:... more

Some walking, including up and down, but the guides allow for plenty of rest stops. The "sea" is low, but we still got to ride the boats. About a one hour tour. The teenage guides tend to rush a bit but will slow down and answer questions. Take your camera, many interesting photo ops. We got in just ahead of... more
