There are alot of whitewater rafting companies to choose from in Tennessee area. Appalachian Outdoors is a family owned company and very friendly. Their guides are great also. We had Phillip and he made our trip memorable. They put Bible verses on the paddles, what a great way of witnessing. I loved this company and would recommend them to anyone... more

We had a fantastic time whitewater rafting with this company. The owners are extremely nice and accommodating and the guides are top-notch. They even were kind enough to provide us with water shoes when we stupidly forgot to wear close-toed shoes and instead wore flip flops. Ask for Steve Ebb to be your guide and you won't be sorry.....this english... more

Whitewater rafting is great. Appalachian Outdoors is a super place, with wonderful guides and super friendly people. We chose Appalachian Outdoors randomly since there were so many outfits to choose from. What caught my husband's eye was that they said that they had the longest run of all the companies. I chose this outfit because of reviews here.I was not disappointed. It took about an hour to get there from Pigeon Forge.When you arrive they give you a helmet and life jacket before you board the bus. On our visit to the Smokies (wk of 7/16/06) we wanted to do some whitewater rafting (me, my husband & 2 boys, 19 & 13). There are quite a few companies to choose from. I mainly chose Appalachain Outdoors because they are a Christian owned company. We had a great time! It was the best money we spent all week.... more
