There is a lot to do in Pigeon Forge. All the theatres and dinner shows are here. Plenty of good places to eat. You can ride a trolley for 50 cents and it will take you to all the places you would like to visit. You are very close to Gatlinburg without all the traffic! Again, ride the trolley to... More

This year we did the upper river raft. Thought it may be tough for my husband an old women like me (50 next week) but it was fun and my 17,19, and 21 yr old kids had a great time. Fast paced but not the whole trip. Even in early teens they would have done great.

The Pigeon River is a great introduction to whitewater rafting. It is continuous Class III with two very small Class IV rapids at the end. They are not big rapids, but they are rated a IV- because of some maneuvering required within the rapids. There is nothing scary or intimidating about this short five mile stretch of whitewater. Because the... More

There were four of us who went white water rafting down the Pigeon River. Three of my friends had never been white water rafting. We all had a blast and no one fell out of the raft!

This is not a Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg attraction. However, they sell the rafting trips out of these locations. We purchased our rafting packages which was "Super Affordable" from the Nantahola Outdoor Center (NOC) in Gatlinburg. That place is worth a visit even if you do not plan to whitewater raft, especially if you enjoy hiking, camping or other outdoor... More

My family of 15 had a ball rafting on the Pigeon Forge River in TN. I was told that we went over 4's and 5's of dips and rushes (my terminology). Our guide was excellent, and the ride was safe and fun. Our youngest were ten years old, and they were perfectly capable of mastering the basics. The cost was... More

I had a great time rafting with my friends on the Big Pigeon River. Our guide,Mike from Wild Water rafting company, was a great guide. He was fun and also made sure that we stayed safe, while having a great time.

Pigeon Forge during summer and in-seasons is not a great place to visit if you want peace and quiet or a slow pace. Too many tourists NOT paying attention to the road and even with 3 lanes going both ways - traffic is a total nightmare. Expect to sit at numerous redlights for a long time. So many distractions for... More
