I took the class room course 2 years ago but this time I had the chance to take the class along with a photo shoot. Jim provides the easiest to understand explanation for those confusing little symbols you find on your camera. Once in the field you get to apply what you have been shown along with hints on composition... More

My parents went on the Taking Better Photos SIlent Mountain tour and had the best time!! They were in Gatlinburg for a whole week and all they talked about when they got back was the photo tour! My parents did not have a camera with them when they went and one of the instructors was nice enough to let them... More

If you don't know how to use your ditigal camera, take this class and tour. If you want to learn local history, take this tour. If you want to meet a genuine, nice, tour guide, Jim Eastin is the best. We learned so much from him about our camera, picture taking, and the history of the area.

We really enjoyed and learned a lot about taking photos during the class by Jim Eastin and also on the Quiet Mountain Tour. We learned a lot about actual photo shooting. The tour was awesome. I did not even know the places we went existed and I have been going to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for 45 years. We would... More

This course/tour has resurrected my interest in photography! We've been to Pigeon Forge many times, but Jim's teaching developes skills that last beyond the vacation. A gifted teacher, a great subject in the midst of God's glory. If you like Italian food, history, nature and (of course) photography, this 5 hour learning adventure is for you!

This class is exactly what I have been looking for. I have always wanted to learn to take better pictures, but the classes I have checked on were far to technical for me. Jim explained the fundamentals in a clear, concise and fun way. After a couple of hours of classroom time and a nice lunch we headed into the... More

We went on the Cade's Cove Tour and we had such a nice time that we went on the Wildflowers and Waterfalls Tour. Both were great! We learned a lot of things about our camera and put them to use right away. This is knowledge that we will use forever....and who knew? Lunch was delicious. Everybody was friendly and professional.... More

We attending the tour in Oct. with the plan that myself and our 8yr. daughter would learn while my husband watched the 4 and 2 yr old, but even while keeping an eye on our kids, my husband was engaged as well. The lessons are so simple but professional and easily put into practice. We had soo much fun and... More

Taking Better Photos is a chance for people to learn and practice photography. Any age is welcome and the teachers work with everyone. There is a morning hour class, lunch, and then a trip into the park to practice what you just learned. There are some DVDs you can purchase to take the teaching home for a reasonable price.
