My wife and I spent last week in Tennessee near the Smokies and signed up for a beginner photo class and tour combination with Taking Better Photos Tours. We expected some generic class and hoped to pick up a tip or two. What we got was a very professional presentation with more information than I dreamed possible. The deal also... More

I purchased a Groupon for this photography tour in the Great Smokies, to be used during a family reunion in Gatlinburg. The teacher, Jim, was out of town and Colleen had to have emergency surgery the day before our scheduled tour and was not able to meet us. Since we will not be back in that area in the foreseeable... Jim took us to some little known areas and taught us how to get fantastic shots no matter what type of device we were using. We will definitely be looking him up when we come back. Well worth the cost.

The day after our class we called Colleen about purchasing a sun shield. She met us at our resort and fixed our camera with the shield. This was going above the norm. Great customer care. Thanks, Colleen.

Took Jim's Shooting the Camera course in Dec 2013 at Tree Tops Resort. Enjoyed his class so much my husband and I decided to go with Jim on his Hidden Treasures Tour later that week. Completely enjoyed both. Jim is informative, knowledgeable, patient, and entertaining. He goes out of his way to make everyone feel comfortable and ensure everyone enjoys... More

We had an informative class to taking better photos by getting out of the "Auto" mode but not necessarily using the manual mode. A yummy Lunch was included at an Italian Resturant. Then we took a 4 hour driving tour to some spots in the Smokies to try our hand at getting those "bettter photos". There was a lot of... More

I have been on several of Jim Easton's tours and sat through his classes at least 5 times and always learn something new. I love the tours as Jim has so many interesting things to tell us about the area and the history of TN. Also I look through the lens of my camera in a much different perspective. I... More
