My 12 and 16 year old kids and I had never been horseback riding. Checking the area options out - I encountered most had a weight limit. I'm 6 foot and 260 pounds. Many of the places said the max limit was 240. Big Rock Dude Ranch website said that larger folks could be accommodated if they had the horses... More

This place has everything for a weekend family trip to put the cell phones away and enjoy! Very nice and professional staff. Grounds and animals are well kept. We did all the activities, with 4 children. The trail guide was very good with our two, first time riders, 9 and 11. This is a place you don't forget.

If you plan to ride horses while in PF or Gatlinburg, this is where you should do it. It's a 3 mile trek up the side of a mountain with awesome views. My 5 yr old granddaughter rode in front on her own horse being "led" but the guide who talked to her and read the signs to her and... More

We have rode before in Gatlinburg but at a different place. Decided to go here. Had to pay extra for someone to ride because of weight over 240 but alady under 240 was on the horse before the person n our group got on the same horse ? The man whom was at the gate was very nice and very... More

I just called Big Rock Dude Ranch this morning to inquire about their "Big Guys Okay, when horses are available (some restrictions)" policy to get clarification. Here is what it is: Max weight is 240 but if you are over will take riders up to 280 BUT between 240 and 280 you must be close to or over 6 ft.... More

My husband and I decided to go horseback riding on our kid-free weekend in Gatlinburg. We chose this stable because the rides are unguided. We thought this would give us a chance to speak freely nd privately to each other without the pressure of holding a conversation with the guide. We loved our experience! The mountain was BEAUTIFUL! The horses... More

Great views, great price and great animals! Was a fun 1st day in the smoky mountains. The horses were very well behaved and beautiful. The 1hr ride was plenty long enough to take in the views and appreciate the horses!

I read every review! More importantly I read the "managements" response to some of the bad reviews. I found your response to paying customers to be rude and condescending!! I feel like your responses are a good indication of how I may be treated if I come to your establishment!! Very poor marketing decision!!! If you are going to be... More

We (I, my wife, and our 18 and a 12 yr old) went to the Big Rock Dude Ranch at Ponderosa today and had a wonderful time! To put it into perspective, we've traveled to some really nice places, both in the U.S., Hawaii and several foreign islands/countries and we all agree that it was one of the funnest excursions/attractions...
