Highly recommended for great roots music. This is what you came to Nashville to see. Jim Lauderdale is the host and he is awesome. We've been there several times and seen Greensky Bluegrass, Shawn Camp, Greg Trooper, Rachael Hester, and other good acts. You'll have to drive outside of town: Franklin is in the suburbs. This is very much a... More

We attended the Music City Roots show in Franklin and were impressed by the quality of the musicians and the show's production. Starting with the introduction all the way to the last act, the show is flawless. Four different musical groups performed, each with their own sound, giving the audience a variety of styles to enjoy. Seeing live music in... More

We had a great time. We had kids and adults in our group, people from the Nashville area and from out of the state. Everyone loved it. The quality of the performers was excellent. There were such a diverse group of performers that it really entertained a wide variety of music lovers. The ambiance with the live radio show and... More

This was a very enjoyable experience. We heard some great music from both unknown acts and some well-known musicians. The atmosphere is casual, like being with a bunch of friends at a house party. The talented Jim Lauderdale was the emcee/ host/ entertainer. The final all-bands jam at the end of the show is really the best way to close... More

I attended Music City Roots on 10/15/14 after touring civil war sites in Franklin during the day. It was an interesting variety of acts that performed. Since it is a live radio show and web cast, it is interesting to watch them interview the talent while the stage is changed for the next act. While there, I became a fan... More

Not sure yet about the move from Loveless Barn over to the Factory - seating is better but the atmosphere is different. At any rate, there is simply not a better show in town - this place spanks the Opry every which way - seriously! Enjoy!

My wife and I attended on 16th July and had a great night. Those reviewers who complain about having to stand, the poor quality food, etc, should try a music venue in England. In my country you have to deal with poor acoustics, aggressive drunks and all manner of impediments to a good night. We had a fun time and... More

Arrived late at the show and you stand ! Tried standing in one spot for three hours ? Horrid ! Ok so they relieve you of your money at the door and cram you into a room not large enough and with too few chairs ? This is not cool it is just greedy. The restaurant out the front sells... More

I thoroughly enjoyed Music City Roots at the Factory in Franklin. Many of the restaurants in the Factory have special menus and deals for those attending the show, so we ate at Stoveworks beforehand. There was plenty of seating and it was a very comfortable arrangement. The show itself was different that I expected but in a good way. I... More

I feel sad writing this review but it is an accurate reflection of my experience on the specific night I attended (July 9, 2014.) Music City Roots has relocated to a larger venue, south of Nashville at The Factory in Franklin, TN. The theater is located at the end of a shopping area with restaurants, so it is convenient to...
