There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. We joined in on this tour per a recommendation of some friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour guide, Bill, took us around to some really interesting places and told us cool stories about the places and people that frequented them. He was a wealth of knowledge, was very friendly, and made great recommendations on things to do while in... More

This is a must take tour when visiting Nashville. The tour guide, Bill, is very knowledgeable, and it is obvious he enjoys sharing his knowledge and experiences with those on his tour! We arrived in Nashville on Wednesday and did not take the tour until Saturday, so we were nervous that we had already seen the sights that were going... More

As all the reviewers have said, Bill is a wonderful, well-spoken musicologist/Nashville historian. But also, he is a people person, and he connects his listeners to their heroes. The end result is you are left with a friendly, personal feeling about Nashville and its vast number of sites and sounds. The museums here are great, but their scope can be... More

We decided to take this tour on the strength of the positive reviews, and we are delighted to have done so. On our first visit to Nashville we were looking for something to give us an insight, a look behind the scenes, some “feel” for the place and Bill, our excellent guide, certainly delivered. He is a mine of information,... More

I heartily agree with all the positive comments listed by other reviewers. We took the tour in September 2014 and were in awe of BIll's knowledge and of the music and musician history of the city. He can take you to a simple alley and make that area come alive with colourful characters of a bygone era. He is a... More

This tour was the perfect way to begin our first trip to Nashville. All the praise you read by other reviewers is warranted, and I'm not sure what I can add. Bill DeMain is a wonderful guide - he's knowledgeable, interesting, considerate and fun. We were traveling on Sept. 26, the day of the FAA fire in Chicago and had... More

Nothing beats getting knowledge about the music in Nashville from an actual music journalist who has spoken to the music legends himself and has the most interesting inside stories to share. This is an unforgettable tour and I would not have appreciated Nashville half as much without it. Thanks for being so awesome Bill!
