Established July 2012. Hank, Johnny, Chet, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta, Dolly, Willie . . . There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Now you can recapture the magic of this golden era on the Walkin' Nashville Music City Legends Tour. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. You'll see Printer's Alley, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Hatch Show Print.Your friendly guide is Grammy-nominated journalist and musician, Bill DeMain. A longtime resident of Nashville, he will show you hidden corners of the city not found in any guidebook and tell you stories you won't hear on any other tour. From APRIL - OCTOBER, tours run Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday. From NOVEMBER - MARCH, tours run Friday & Saturday only (weekdays available by special arrangement for groups of 8 or more)Start Time: 10:30 AM (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in)Tour Length: Approx. 2 Hours

Our guide knew so much about the music and history of Nashville. He gave us recommendations for music, sights, and restaurants. We followed them all and had a great weekend!

I highly recommend two highly informative hours of Walkin' Nashville with (self described music nerd) Bill. Not only did he know his stuff, but had fascinating personal anecdotes & cool inside knowledge of the history of the Nashville music scene. Not even a country music fan & still found this tour exceptionally interesting. Don't miss it if you're in Nashville!

Our group toured with Bill this past weekend and absolutely loved our time with him. We also did the segway tour, which are always fun, but I didn't feel we learned much about the city or country music surprisingly. Fortunately, Walkin' Nashville provided us a plethora of Nashville's history, its unbreakable tie to country music and tons of great factoids... More

Bill provides a fantastic tour of the music history of Nashville. This was our first outing of our weekend trip and thankfully so as it set the stage for the reminder of the weekend. Bill entertained us as he educated us on the music history of Nashville and it's players. He has wonderful stories of people he had read about... More

Our first time to Nashville and we were looking for a tour to gain some background appreciation for the history and how Nashville became Music City. Wow, what a great time we spent with Bill. Our tour was personable and filled with interesting facts and of course, music. He gave my wife and 20 year old son and I a... More

My friends and I absolutely loved Bill's walking tour. His passion for Nashville and country music were evident from the very beginning. I don't think you could find another tour guide with the knowledge that he has. It was so interesting hearing stories about the history of country music in Nashville, how some of the biggest artists today and the... More

The tour was incredibly interesting, well-designed, and engaging. Bill is a tour guide par excellence, and he has an obvious passion for country music and the city of Nashville. I am not a tour guy, but this was a very worthwhile use of my time and money.

Our guide (Bill) was extremely knowledgeable. He had a true passion for Nashville and country music. Highly recommend this tour. In addition to the actual tour, Bill gave us some great tips on "must see" performers that were playing around town. We did this tour the first day and it greatly enhanced our appreciation of the city and our overall... More
