There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Now you can recapture the magic of this golden era on the Walkin' Nashville Music City Legends Tour. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. You'll see Printer's Alley, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Hatch Show Print.Your friendly guide is Grammy-nominated journalist and musician, Bill DeMain. A longtime resident of Nashville, he will show you hidden corners of the city not found in any guidebook and tell you stories you won't hear on any other tour. From APRIL - OCTOBER, tours run Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday. From NOVEMBER - MARCH, tours run Friday & Saturday only (weekdays available by special arrangement for groups of 8 or more)Start Time: 10:30 AM (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in)Tour Length: Approx. 2 Hours « less

I visited Nashville with 5 other friends in March and we booked this activity because of the great reviews it gets. I was not disappointed. Bill is more than a tour guide. He really has a passion for Nashville's country music history and kept the group engaged throughout the tour. Each location we visited he told some stories of their... More

My husband and I visited Nashville to attend the Springsteen concert on April 17. Jim, is a huge fan of country music for me, not so much. We decided to add this tour after reading several great reviews on this site; and as I like to learn as much as possible about the places we visit, we signed on. Bill... More

We brought a group of college students to Nashville, and Bill's Walkin' Nashville tour was suggested as a great thing to do. It definitely was! Bill does a wonderful job of mixing great stories with historical facts, and our students got a behind-the scenes look at some of the original spots in Nashville where country classics got their start. We... More

First, let me say that I am not a country music connoisseur. I hate "new country" and only like a limited amount of "old country." This was my first time in Nashville. I was passing through on my way home from a business trip in Kentucky. Basically, I was only in Nashville for the amount of time that it took... More

A more personable, knowledgeable and interesting tour guide you will not find after going on this tour by Bill DeMain. DeMain is da man for a music tour in Music City. What I first noticed was that this guy has a heart for music history and tells it with passion. He’s got a story for just about anything musical, and... More

My husband and I took Bill's tour on Friday based on the Tripadvisor reviews and the fact we're both music fans. It's packed with anecdotes drawn from Bill's own experience as a music journalist. Interesting facts presented with genuine enthusiasm and fondness for the city and its musical heritage. We learned a lot, warmed to Bill very quickly and thoroughly... More

After reading other reviews on here, we decided to do this tour, and so glad that we did! I bought tickets in advance online and I suggest that because his tours fill quickly. It was a 2 hour tour, that actually ended up lasting about 2 1/2 hours. Bill is FULL of knowledge, trivia, fun facts, etc. about music and... More

Singer, songwriter, music journalist, and Expert on the Nashville music scene! There is no other that could do this tour the way Bill does. It exceeded my expectations, by far.
