Established July 2012. Hank, Johnny, Chet, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta, Dolly, Willie . . . There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Now you can recapture the magic of this golden era on the Walkin' Nashville Music City Legends Tour. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. You'll see Printer's Alley, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Hatch Show Print.Your friendly guide is Grammy-nominated journalist and musician, Bill DeMain. A longtime resident of Nashville, he will show you hidden corners of the city not found in any guidebook and tell you stories you won't hear on any other tour. From APRIL - OCTOBER, tours run Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday. From NOVEMBER - MARCH, tours run Friday & Saturday only (weekdays available by special arrangement for groups of 8 or more)Start Time: 10:30 AM (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in)Tour Length: Approx. 2 Hours

If you're like me and don't know much about who sings what only you just know you like country music that's ok. Cause Bill will fill you in on everything you wanted to know and then some. I found his knowledge and information sharing refreshing. The walk about was a very easy walk. Even if you're not much into group... More

This is an interesting and colorful walking tour. Bill DeMain's knowledge and love of the city is very obvious as we walked through downtown Nashville. He peppered all of the city's history with personal stories or comments about the area. His music background helped to make this a must do if you're visiting Nashville.

I've lived in Nashville for 20 years and work in the music business. My cousin was visiting from Boston and I thought this might be a fun tour to take. I didn't think I'd learn anything new but boy, was I wrong. Bill is a walking encyclopedia of cool Music City history, an entertaining and kind guide, and enjoys interacting... More

Bill's knowledge and experiences bring a great deal of authenticity to this trip. The stories he tells aren't hearsay, the info comes from first hand conversations he's had with the artists involved Awesome trip

Exactly what a walking tour should be:unexpected and delightful. Bill told the back-story to lots of places with passion and humour. We discovered a side to Nashville and to country music we would not have otherwise found out about. The morning flew by too quickly though. This is a must do for Nashville.

Very enjoyable two hours with Bill, who has an extensive knowledge of the history of Country music, and the role that Nashville has played. We saw areas of Nashville that we would never have otherwise seen. We are now heading out for Meat and Three!! Thanks Bill😀

If you know who "Skull Schulman" was you can probably skip this tour but if you don't (like me) this is a tour that shouldn't be missed. Our tour guide, Bill DeMain is a self described music nerd. He really knows and likes both music trivia and Nashville. This combination makes for an extremely enjoyable and informative tour. My wife... More

We'd been to Nashville once before and saw many of the sites people go to see when there. Looking for something different, we took Bill's tour as it is a walking tour and had such great reviews. All of them true, we happily discovered. It wasn't so much the sites we walked past, but the information about them and the... More
