Description: Established July 2012. Hank, Johnny, Chet, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta...
Established July 2012. Hank, Johnny, Chet, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta, Dolly, Willie . . . There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Now you can recapture the magic of this golden era on the Walkin' Nashville Music City Legends Tour. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. You'll see Printer's Alley, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Hatch Show Print.Your friendly guide is Grammy-nominated journalist and musician, Bill DeMain. A longtime resident of Nashville, he will show you hidden corners of the city not found in any guidebook and tell you stories you won't hear on any other tour. From APRIL - OCTOBER, tours run Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday. From NOVEMBER - MARCH, tours run Friday & Saturday only (weekdays available by special arrangement for groups of 8 or more)Start Time: 10:30 AM (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in)Tour Length: Approx. 2 Hours

Bill was extremely knowledgeable on anything music related and obviously has a lot of experience in the industry. Gave a fantastic, well planned tour and is even sending all tour participants a follow up email with supporting facts and music playlists / videos that we might find interesting. A complete steal for $20 I thought compared to what you pay... More

One of the best tours we have been on. We are appreciative of country music and not massive fans but Bill has provided such a great tour with such fantastic REAL and uncensored information from first hand knowledge through his journalism work and general work in the industry. He is a wealth of information but isn't patronising nor lecturing. His... More

If you only take one tour let it be this one. So much better than those scripted tours. The depth of knowledge Bill Demain has is incredible. He answered most of the questions asked of him. The ones he could not answer he got back to us via email. His background as a music journalist and musician made this an... More

This tour was a great way to get an overview of Nashville and the country music scene. Bill is very personable and knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to spend time with him in his city. Definitely a worthwhile thing to do when you first arrive in Nashville.

I highly recommend this is the first thing you do in Nashville as it will then frame all the other things you. House to see and do while there!!!!, What Bill does not know about Nashville and the country music industry and it's legends is not worth knowing. It is a nice stroll to places you may not find on... This is a fabulous small group tour that provides perspective on country music and Nashville, while viewing the locations where so much music history has taken place. Bill is a wealth of knowledge and I can't imagine someone better suited to guide this tour. He gave us great tips on live music happening in the upcoming days that we took... More

This was one of the best tours I've been on anywhere in the world. Bill is a fount of knowledge about Nashville and it's music scene and shares his passion for country music with the group in a personal way. While walking along between stops he gets to know you a bit, answers questions and tunes his dialogue to your... More

This tour is very intimate and detailed, and allows for lots of questions and asides. The guide is personable, respectful of time and noise and temperatures. He has great stories from interviews he has done w/ country music legends. He also recommends spots for lunch and dinner as well as upcoming music venue hits.
