Very disappointed in this one. Don't require fancy accommodations or expensive trappings to enjoy good country music but the music quality and bar were comparable to any small VFW hall or Moose lodge on a Sunday night. Wanted more while in Nashville.

We arrived in Nashville on a Sunday afternoon and went downtown to see the free bluegrass jam session that takes place every Sunday night at the Station Inn. We were not disappointed! We were pleased to find there was plenty of parking nearby and it was easy to find. It's a pretty small dive bar, serving drinks and snack food... More

There is nothing like the Station Inn. It is one of the most revered venues for bluegrass, acoustic and Americana music in Nashville. Countless acts from the newcomers to some of the biggest acts in bluegrass make a beeline for this trusted favorite place when they come to Nashville. You never know who is going to show up in the... The atmosphere is very laid back and casual. $12 per person for a seat at a simple table set up. The live music was excellent. A food area offers varieties of alcoholic beverages as well as sodas. Our group got several pizzas, which were good. Performing was Buddy Green and Friends, who put on a great show. I will definitely... More

I was spending a few days with friends in Nashville and had persuaded them to take me to the Grand Ole Opry which was rather disappointing for us all (see my separate review). On my last night in town they suggested we visit the Station Inn which they had heard had great Bluegrass music. On the basis that we couldn't... More

We had only one night in Nashville and wanted to find a proper music venue. Checking out the available choices things appeared to be a bit limited but we couldn't have chosen better than going to the Station Inn. It was a Monday night and the 8 piece band was absolutely excellent. The venue itself is basic but that is... More

After standing in crowded & loud bars on Broadway (which were fun too) it was such a pleasure to come to Station Inn, pay $12 and sit and relax while taking in fine bluegrass music. Definitely the atmosphere we were ready for. You can come in and sit down and enjoy the music in a simple environment. There's no pressure... More

The Station Inn can best be called a "listening room", albeit not a very fancy listening room. The tables and chairs are scattered about, the lighting is rather dark, and the decor is festival posters and hand bills for concerts and performances in the last 40 years. And its exactly as it should be in Music City. The seats are... More

Forget about the honky tonks on Broadway, the Station Inn is the place to hear good music in Nashville. We visited the Station Inn in September of 2013. It's located in the Gulch which, for us, was within walking distance of the Comfort Inn we stayed at during our visit to Nashville. We were warned that we would have to... More

My wife and I were looking for something to do on a Sunday evening while visiting Nashville. She found a site about the Station Inn, so we decided to check it out. The atmosphere is so cool, so laid back and so comfortable, you almost feel like you are in a friend's basement or garage. Posters, some old, some new... More
