This park has some really cool features. Apart from the extensive picnic and family areas, it has bas relief maps of the area, significant quotes and history moments tucked everywhere. The lawns are lush and sweeping, the bathrooms overused but reasonably maintained, the views interesting. Everything you want from a park.

Most visitors do visit this park, but it is well worth it beautifully set out with various areas to it, plus a fun day water play for the children. Alongside the park is the farmers market whic is also well worth a visit, especially for lunch.

This was kind of off the beaten path and we wouldn't have found it by ourselves (thanks Joyride!). It was really pretty though and has a beautiful view of the capitol. Standing in the dead center (there's a little embedding metal button) lets you try a fun acoustic trick. Get there at the hour or half hour to hear the... More

We enjoyed some time away from the crowds in Bicentennial Park on the edge of downtown Nashville. There's a cool map carved into the granite that allows you to walk from one end of the state to the other. Fountains that kids can cool off in and a history of Tennessee walkable timeline. We weren't there at the right time... More

Our family visited the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. It was very nice. It was also very hot! Very historic. And the Farmers Market was wonderful.

I would recommend putting this site on your Nashville itinerary. The park has working carillon bells. The view of the capital from the bell site is exceptional. The outside walls of the park have many historic facts listed. There is a remarkable World War II section with a huge world globe that turns on water. The farmers' market offers many... More
