Broadway in Nashville is a very cool place. Free music, bar after bar and nice people. Not sure you would want to take small children, but great for the 21 and over crowd.

We enjoyed an evening walking up and down Broadway from the Hardrock to Tootsie's. There is a lot of energy and lots of young very good musician performing in the bars up and down Broadway. There is no cover charge at most places so you're free to roam in and out whenever you find music you like. Very enjoyable.

There's live music in every honky tonk on 5th Ave from Broadway to the river, you can pop in and out of each one and enjoy them all (make sure and tip them, I hear they are performing for free in the hopes of being discovered). And if you're in the market for a pair of cowboy boots, this might... More

Great place to visit for live music day and night. This area is safe to walk the streets and enjoy yourself. Watch out for panhandlers, they roam the streets asking for money...

We went to downtown Nashville at 7PM to wander around and see the sights. We wound up on the wrong street somehow, and found 2 crackheads standing in the middle of the road trying to fight. I was very surprised by that and the heavy urine smell, because we were very close to areas outlined in several walking tours I... More

Visited Downtown Nashville three times during the week we stayed at Wyndham Nashville. Dropped off from the shuttle bus, much better than having to try and park and also find parking especially at weekends. Around the corner from our drop-off was when we heard the music, WOW, this is what we had come for, a little dissapointed with Memphis especially... More

If you are bored walking around downtown Nashville you should go home. If you are not into bars there are lots of restaurants, museums, and historical areas.
