A day spent at Cheekwood is definitely worthwhile but the December Holiday season is the best time to visit.

Granted, we were there in November when the gardens are not at their best. However I expected more from the mansion/museum. The mansion is fine but the art there is of little interest. Some of the very primitive sculptures are interesting and there are some pieces by Paul Revere, but the rest was mediocre and there is only two small... More

We visited in late October on a crystal clear day. The leaves were in full color and the gardens and woods were beautiful. It would have been a great visit anytime. We walked a lot and saw everything. Free bluegrass music in the herb garden, which was lovely. The food in the restaurant was very good. Be sure to eat... More

It was a beautiful property but it is better to see in a season instead of in between seasons. The gardens are great for a date or day with someone when you are looking to walk or talk.

Cheekwood is a beautiful place year round, but particularly when they have special displays like the train exhibit, children's playhouses or the outdoor lighting displays. Best to call for hours and ticket prices, but well worth any prices. Kids like the huge grassy areas with water areas, so they aren't just tied to seeing the museum art and flowers. Also,... More

This beautiful gem is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. We went while they had an Andy Warhol art exhibit on display. Some of the most beautiful grounds I have ever had the pleasure of touring. Beautiful place to spend an afternoon and perhaps have a picnic under the shade of one of the many beautiful... More

The home and visitor center at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens are beautiful with lovely displays, but some of the most attractive things about Cheekwood are the special displays. Chihuly had a beautiful display of his glass art in the outdoor gardens as well as indoors. And last winter the grounds, which are lovely themselves, were covered with a spectacular light display.... We went in spring when EVERYTHING was blooming, and it was beautiful. Kids and adults had a blast. Those of us who garden a little were writing things down to look up later to plant. It got pretty hot by mid-afternoon, and we went up to the house. Air conditioning was either not on or not enough, it was pretty... More

Botanical Gardens are a fun treat for me. When I visited Cheekwood it was featuring glass art by Dale Chihuly. I went later in the day as it was turning into evening, the lighting of the gardens set off the manicured areas at night provided beautiful scenery and a serene experience.
