Owner description: "The Bluebird Cafe is one of the world's preeminent listening rooms and has gained worldwide recognition as a songwriter's performance space where the "heroes behind the hits" perform their own songs; songs that have been recorded by chart-topping artists in all genres of music. Located in a small strip mall outside of downtown Nashville, the tiny 85 seat venue is unassuming in appearance but some of the most significant songwriters and artists have performed on this stage.

We were there on Dec 16, one of the best places I have been, the band playing was the first one to played at the cafe when it was first opened, those guys were amazing, they had a Christmas special with a lot of guest singers. This is definitely the place to go if you want to hear quality musicians.... More

This was an excellent place to see performers, very up close and intimate. Loved it and the musicians were amazing.

An excellent place to see talented new songwriters in Nashville. You need to book or turn up an hour before the doors open, but its worth it. This place is iconic. Dont miss it.

Had good food and beverage. Chicken and sweet potato fries. Very friendly and efficient staff especially are waitress. The song writers in the round talking and being real with everyone. They sing together and share stories. One of the ones we saw has written for Garth Brooks, Restless Heart, and Keith Urban. Very enjoyable is you enjoy music- especially country.

This is not to be missed in Nashville. It is a cab ride from downtown - in a little strip mall. But there is good shopping across the street - so a good place to go for the day. Very small. But it was a wonderful evening and I wouldn't have missed being at this little gem for anything.

My wife and I waited in line on standby and just barely got in to the small venue, but it was worth the wait. Over a year later we still talk about the live music and atmosphere of the Bluebird and have been searching for similar venues without much luck. If you get the chance it is worth the wait!

Brenau University held a private event for alumni in the Middle Tennessee area, and we were treated to hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and four wonderful musicians who played for the crowd for three hours. Among the four musicians was Bonner Black, of Little Honey, who is a rising talent in Nashville. Others playing were prominent song writers for the likes of... More

We were so blessed to be part of the audience for the Sweethearts of the Rodeo annual show. They appear the day after Thanksgiving each year. This was the 19th year in a row! They did several of their own songs, a Beatles hit and their musicians did a few songs while Janice changed a broken guitar string. Their voices... More

We have been occasional visitors to the Bluebird for many years. As Atlanta residents, we would drive to Nashville for weekends. Our previous visits were great experiences. We recently moved to Seattle, so our current trip to Nashville was a big deal. Unable to get reservations, we arrived two hours before showtime and stood in line. There were 14 people... More

Hello Tom, Thanks for your comments about our your visit to The Bluebird and your experience at the venue. First of all, my sincerest apologies for your unhappy experience. We start out most nights with 10 seats at the bar and 10-12 seats in the church pews available as first come, first served seating. Sometimes we are hit with unexpected... More
