"The Bluebird Cafe is one of the world's preeminent listening rooms and has gained worldwide recognition as a songwriter's performance space where the "heroes behind the hits" perform their own songs; songs that have been recorded by chart-topping artists in all genres of music. Located in a small strip mall outside of downtown Nashville, the tiny 85 seat venue is unassuming in appearance but some of the most significant songwriters and artists have performed on this stage.

Out of curiosity, I read the "bad" reviews for this venue just to see what they are all about. It seems that the most complaints were from people who went on a Monday night, for Writers Night, and had to wait on line, and didn't get in. We too made this same mistake last year. This year, I happened to... More

The Bluebird Cafe is a such as great way to hear upcoming artists. I loved the shhhh policy as everyone was enjoying the music. The level of talent on stage was excellent. I'd highly recommend getting seats in advance.

An amazing experience! A very intimate setting in an un-expecting place (strip mall). Perfect night with great music played by those that actually wrote some of the most famous songs. Wonderful setting and background around how these songs came to be. I will definitely be going back! Get your tickets early the Monday before the show (don't wait at the... More

We're big fans of the TV series "Nashville," which frequently films scenes here, so we had to go. Saw three excellent musicians (Edward David Anderson, Will Kimbrough, and Anthony Crawford), they played about two hours and were really good. We had the BBQ pork sandwich, and while there was nothing at all wrong with it, the music was the highlight.... More

If in Nashville go here. This is where many of the music stars got their start. It is small--only 90 seats and hard to get reservations. About 20-25 no reservation people are admitted for each show. We waited in line about 2 hours and got in (13 and 14 in line). When waiting a staff member came out twice and... More

Went along for a Sunday session which was due to start at 8.00. Got there to start queuing at 6.30. At about 7.15 someone from cafe came out and indicated where the cut off would be for entry which was helpful. Unfortunately I was some way off and wasn't likely to get in. Thought about returning the following night so... More

This place is highly overrated. They make you wait for over an hour in line while they call people with reservations that didn't show up. They could have a designated time where no shows give up their reservations but I think the Manager enjoys the chaos. In addition the music at downtown bars is way better.

Hello Twintime and thank you for your comments about your experience at The Bluebird Cafe. Just to be clear, we do not make anyone wait in line. That is our visitor's free choice. And as far as a designated time where no shows are cancelled, it is always made clear to people, upon making their reservation, that unclaimed seats will... More

Tried multiple times during our 4 days in Nashville to get in - and not even on a weekend. First challenge is parking. Second challenge is to then even step foot on their property, which is not allowed until at least 4:30 p.m. Then there's the surly employee that comes out to yell at everyone in line that can't be... Managed to get tickets for this wonderful place. Felt very honoured and priviledged to have been there ,as seats are very limited. There was no charge for the tickets, just a holding deposit. We went on line and queued on line via the timer clock. Surpringly we hit it lucky. The venue was intimate and welcoming and we truly felt... More
