Located south of downtown Nashville, Tennessee, the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere has been at its current location since 1996 and has been continuously expanding. It’s home to blue Hyacinth Macaws, White-Cheeked Gibbons, and rare Red Pandas, among others. Liked it the first time and after that it is just alright. Way more exciting for children and there is even a play ground. I have been a few times but wish the elephants and giraffe exhibit had a better view.

It was warm outside so we decided to take advantage and check out the zoo! It was great! Loved the dinosaurs exhibit and the African animals!! Will definitely return next time in Naahville!

Took my 3 yo God daughter for a day at the zoo. She absolutely loved every moment of it. The meerkats alone were worth the trip. Those little critters are highly entertaining.

Laid out more like an animal park, lots of green space for animals and humans. Large holdings mean some animals may be a little difficult to spot in the heat of the day. the staff is genuinely interested in a good guest experience.

The Nashville Zoo isn't the largest zoo, but it is definitely worth checking out, especially if you have young kids who love animals. They have a carousel, a petting zoo and an aviary where Lorikeets and other birds fly around and you can purchase nectar to feed them. There is also an historic farm, which a limited number of farm... More

Our group of five adults and four kids were excited to go to the zoo but were disappointed that most of the animals were not there. The elephants had gone off to an elephant sanctuary, animals that don't like the cold were inside (where people weren't allowed, something I've never experienced) and there were only two highlights: the reptile house... Set in a natural setting, constantly adding new exhibits. Great for kids and adults alike. Always really enjoy the monkey exhibit.

The staff failed to let us know that 90% of the animals would not be there as there is major construction going on at the zoo. I would not recommend going there until the construction is completed in late 2016.

This is a nice zoo, but right now they are expanding and have a lot of areas closed due to reconstruction. We enjoyed ourselves very much and hope to go back and see all the new things they're working on !
