We needed on more thing to do in Nashville that was not incredibly expensive and since it was finally a beautiful day, we took a spontaneous trip to the zoo. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of exhibits where you could engage with the animals and the historic house on the property where they offer a tour. There were... More

We chose to go in the off-season. bad mistake. we paid full price, but only half of the animals were out. it wasn't cold 60 degrees, but they were doing lots of renovations. the train wasn't running. the giraffes weren't out. the roos weren't out. the elephants were swaying a lot. probably a lot nicer when the whole thing is... It is a great zoo. Not as large as others but the TN landscape makes for a nice backdrop. The Kangaroo exhibit was awesome. You are so close with no fences or bars it's awesome! I have visited more than once and there seems to always be construction and I mcan never get into grassmere. I always enjoy myself and... More

Terrible... Horrible layout! Everything was under construction. Glorified walking trail. Half the animals weren't even there. Advertisement says over 2450 different animals probably only seen 40 different animals. One alligator in their exhibit and 4 monkeys in that exhibit. Complete joke compared to the Little Rock zoo in Arkansas. Not worth the hassle or the money. If you are in... More

I was doubting how much we'd enjoy this, based on other reviewers' comments about its small size, and the fact that I didn't see many animals listed on their website, but was pleasantly surprised. The zoo is beautiful and the exhibits are HUGE. I've never seen an elephant exhibit big enough for elephants to actually have space to hide if... More

I think this will be an awesome zoo in a year once they are done with construction. Also, the weather was not the best, so lots of animals were not out. Have to say that the kangaroo exhibit on its own was a 5 though! The reason for the low rating was that we spent a TON for our family... More

My husband and I took our two kids to the Nashville Zoo while in Nashville on spring break. (My boys are ages 10 years and 1 year, so it's hard to find something we all can do.) While it's true that much of the zoo is under some form of construction, my boys had a blast! They adored watching the... More

Zoo is relatively small and currently under renovation. It was really hard to find animals because most of them were sleeping. I think $15 is just too expensive for that.

Our kids love the zoo. So many animals and not too much walking for the young kids. Kangaroos were an obvious highlight, as well as the children's petting zoo. I highly recommend it! (We took out 5, 4 and 1 year old and they all enjoyed it)

It'd been years since we went to the Nashville Zoo. It's grown a lot since the last time we were there (almost 10 years ago) and has more construction going on for new exhibits they're adding. We're from Denver so impressing us with a zoo is a tall order, but Nashville is making impressive strides. With such a rough winter... More
