We were on a long road trip and decided to stop at the zoo to give us a break from driving. We picked this zoo because the website showed that you could pet a kangaroo, feed lorakeets and do a zip line. We were on a strict 2 hour time frame. This place was amazing. The habitats looked great. We... More

I drove to Cincinnati to see my granddaughters and daughter, then we drove to Nashville to see my son's family, it was about a 4 hours for both. It was mid April, we maybe saw a total of 8 animals. It was not what I expected at all, being spoiled by are zoo in Colorado. To see the family together... More

I wanted to stay at the Jungle Gym (aka the kids playground) all day. it is HUGE. And awesome. I wanted to play. Oh, and there's a zoo at the Nashville Zoo too. With elephants and monkeys and some really great habitats, not just cages. All (adults and kiddos) had a fun time.

The Nashville Zoo is one of our nation's finer zoos, in spite of being on the somewhat small side. Rather than majoring on huge numbers and variety of animals, the zoo chooses to display well the animals they have. On an uncrowded day, the acreage can be covered in a solid 3-4 hours, perfect timing when entertaining young children who... More

We only got a couple of hours as I had to meet friends for lunch. We flew through and it was really hot, it is a walking zoo for sure but what we got to see was great. I am looking forward to going back when it is a bit cooler, with better shoes and my good camera.

This a very nice zoo. I did not think it small as some others have stated. It looks like it is being expanded so it will be really nice in a short time. Very good assortment of animals spread out over mildly hilly terrain. We really like the tour of the pre civil war era house and grounds whose family... More

It does not have that concrete and cage feel to it. The animals were in impressive areas such as the elephant. She was in a well-grassed huge field, not the pavement and dirt you normally see at other zoos. There are not as many animals per enclosure but they appear to be well kept and we found that to be... While visiting the Nashville Zoo, we found that we walked around more than viewing exhibits. Perhaps we came on a bad day or just missed an entire section of the zoo, but there just wasn't a lot to see. The one exception would be the indoor exhibit was nice, but that was truly the only highlight. Like most zoos they... More

Wife enjoyed the tour of house. Farm stead had nice buildings but needs animals. Being in south, tobacco shed should be there. While still a work in progress, decent amount of animals, especially N. American. Staff friendly. Easy to get to.
