This zoo was very pretty, loved the entrance and the setting of the zoo. As a bonus there is a historical home on site. This was very interesting . I loved the zoo but it would be better with more animals. You had to walk great distance in between each exhibit. People that worked there were super nice.

We were impressed by the intricate enclosures for the animals. Actually the entire zoo is very nature friendly. All of the animals were very active when we were visited. In many of the cat displays we found the animals playing with each other and sprinting around their enclosure. It was great. Also, they had an amazing play area for children... More

We spent part of a weekday afternoon at the zoo. Even though it was hot, the walk was mostly shady. It was great fun to watch the meerkats, see the kangaroos, exotic birds and fish. Really liked the bamboo area. This is an even better experience when you are observing through the eyes of your child or grandchild. Enjoy!

We had a big family day out with small children ranging 2 months - 7 years old. We all really enjoyed our day walking around watching the animals. The animal areas seemed large and comfortable and the animals themselves appeared healthy and happy. They seem to be working on improving the guest areas and expanding animal areas. This is a... While Nashville zoo is not the largest I have ever seen, it is the best considering the habitats of the animals. I have been to larger zoos which do not give the animals the comfort of room and vegetation. Nashville zoo does both and it makes for healthier animals and more enjoyable viewing. I highly recommend taking your family for... More

I went to the Nashville zoo a few years ago. Parking was easy, entry was a breeze, nicely done considering what it was like 20+ years ago - it was a field. For a city not known for a zoo, this is a great place. Sure the food was just zoo food, the bathrooms were fairly clean, and it appeared... More

Great place to take the grandchildren plus I really enjoy the place. The young giraffe loping along was a delight. The new kangaroo area is an excellent addition. It is best to go early in the morning when the animals are most active.

For the price of admission, I expected more. We arrived at 4 in the afternoon and within 30 minutes, all the concessions were closed. The zoo didn't close until 6 and it was a hot, steamy day. There was nowhere to get a drink or something to eat. And the few employees we saw seemed less than interested in being... More

We went too late in the day...around noon.....it was already too hot to see some of the animals because they were inthe shade. The lorikeet cage was awesome! We got to feed them by holding a cup of nectar. They wwould light on us and lick it out with their tongues...I had never seen a bird tongue before lol

Leave into several different Susan including Baltimore Pittsburgh. The Nashville zoo is a very nice Sue wants a different attractions. Lots of things under construction so that's always good. With the carousel for the kids to ride which they really enjoyed there's also a train for the children to ride making feed the animals.
