I'm a big zoo person always love to visit one in every city I visit, I must say it is one of my favorites. It is big with lots of walking so if it is hot bring lots of water. There are just to many animals to mention but the place does not disappoint, plan to spend the whole day.... More

Not a bad place to spend 2-3 hrs in. The grounds were clean and well maintained and there were plenty of facilities. The downside is not really the zoo's fault but a trade off that comes with expanding the area for the animals to make them feel more at home. While that's great for them, it can make viewing difficult... More

I have been to many, many zoos and I don't know how I would rank this one, but it is a very pleasant surprise and very much worth doing. The exhibit spaces are very spacious and very pretty, and you feel like the animals are very well taken care of. The only downside, sometimes you can't see the animal but... More

Disclaimer: It was 90+ degrees today - not Nashville Zoo's fault. The Nashville Zoo is a sprawling facility situated in a shabby part of town. (After staying in the Green Hills area, the short drive was a letdown. Lock your car doors.) Thankfully, the large, mature tree canopy creates some much-needed shade in the summer. You'd think that all that... More

Nice zoo overall but there weren't many animals there to see. Several were 'at the vet'. We got there when they opened and 45 minutes after entering, the concession stands still weren't open. They are adding more animals at some point and it may be with the $80 we paid for our family but it wasn't worth the money this... More

We had a free morning & decided to go to the zoo before commitments that afternoon. Really enjoyed the morning. Loved the meerkat exhibit. Red faced pandas & many pretty birds. Walkways are shaded, lots of restrooms & benches to take a break. Zoo has elephants & giraffes but no hippos, rhinos zebras or other large savannah animals. They are... More

I loved the many varieties of animal species! The aviary was excellent and hands on. Very nice, shady paths to walk. The zoo is just the right size! The animals are happy and in wonderful enclosures and creative habitats.

This zoo was so fun. They had a great variety of different animals, some of which I have never even heard of. It was very fun and clean and the animals looked healthy an well cared for. There is a lot of walking involved, but it is worth it. The Zoofari Cafe is absolutely delicious. It is somewhat pricey but... More

Perfect size zoo for small children. They really loved the play area. They stayed about 2 hours on that alone.

I would say if you have to be locked up in a zoo, this is the better place to be when you're an animal. Nice zoo. Takes about 2 to 3 hours to go through. Loved seeing the animals having bigger areas to roam instead of a tiny cage. Different things to see there compared to other zoos.
