I've been to this zoo twice and I love it! The park has over 200 square ft. I was talking to one of the workers and they said they got money from the state to start bringing in more animals and expand. The reptile and fish exhibit is the most impressive. I spend a good hour looking at the different... More

My husband & I lived only 45 minutes away from Nashville. So on one of his days off we were looking for something to do so we went to the zoo. We don't have children but we enjoyed it. It has a really good set up. Most of the areas have multiple view points so you could see the animals... More

The Nashville Zoo at Grassmere offers a solid variety of animals - from elephants, to meerkats, to, now, kanagroos! There are a couple of ways to encounter animals, including a farm animal petting area where goats roaming around freely. The newer Kangaroo Kick-about also offers a chance to roam with the animals, although they didn't come up to me or... More

My experience at the Zoo was great. They have a lot of animals and areas to explore and I went on when they had Brew at the Zoo where they sponsored local breweries and wine. It's a great atmosphere for kids and families, but also young professionals looking to explore a new site!

I enjoy taking my family here. We have had a membership for 3 years. I enjoy watching my kids faces light up when they see the animals. It is not a bug zoo but it is fun. They often have construction going on but they are changing out habitats to get new animals.

I really enjoyed how natural this zoo felt. The expanse of bamboo really makes you feel like you're exploring the wilderness. The scarcity of animal exhibits was a bit off-putting. We did visit at a bad time, in the middle of a hot day; so perhaps later in the evening would have made up for the few animals that are... More

The Nashville Zoo was an extremely pleasant way to spend a few hours. The grounds are gorgeous and a delight for anyone who enjoys walking in woods or gardens. The animal enclosures seemed well appointed and the animals were alert, active, and healthy looking. They were not dull eyed and bored, but we also visited on an excellent day that... More

Have been to several zoos and this one does have a downfall of being on the beautiful hilly landscape of Tenn. You need to keep that in mind when taking older adults there. (85 year grandmother didn't do well) It doesn't have everything that the bigger zoos do, but it is a lovely escape and an enjoyable day for the... More

Perhaps im partial because I grew up wit it, but I love this zoo. Its a fantastic place that keep growing and getting better. They have a fantastic range of animals to enjoy and they seem to be well taken care of. Obviously if you get upset anytime you see an animal enclosed you are not going to enjoy it...... More

After traveling to Memphis zoo and Birmingham Zoo this one was very disappointing. Not many animals and very poorly laid out. Hard to zoo the big animals and only one vantage point was offered.
