I'm local so not sure if that's why i feel it's just a zoo nothing special. They was suppose to be bringing kangaroos soon but haven't seen them yet. The zoo has a lot of functions they do around the year. I think it's okay for out of towners wanting to take there kids.

Expect a lot of walking because the exhibits are far apart. There aren't a lot of each kind of animal compared to other zoos. It was a nice place for a long walk. Memphis zoo is much nicer.

We visited this zoo on September 13th. It was a Saturday, so the zoo was quite busy, but we never felt like it was over-crowded. The parking lot was easy to navigate, and we were able to get into the zoo and buy tickets within minutes of arriving. The zoo is meticulously-kept: it's clean, fresh-looking, and seems to be in... Our family has a annual membership to zoo and go about every month. It is a large zoo, so bring some good shoes. There a few timed attractions in the zoo and massive jungle gym for the kids. They have been updated the walkways but it hasn't inpaired the accessibility at all. Great place!

A zoo is a zoo, right? What differentiates them, however is the property that there on, how it's utilized, the landscaping, and of course, if there are any "star" animals. Well, there are no "star" animals. However, there is a star attraction----for kids anyway. The biggest jungle gym in the country. Thousands of volunteers created this structure in 1998. It... More

We stopped here on September 30 and the zoo was clean and had a nice assortment of animals. There where not many animals per exhibit but they have a lot of construction in progress. I expect nice changes here in the future and will be back when in Nashville again. There is also a historic house here to tour.

This is a nice zoo, but the exhibits are all spaced very far apart, so expect to put in several miles of walking too see everything.

The zoo was clean and the animals appeared to be well cared for. It was very hot and humid the day we went, but there was ample shade and outdoor fans which helped keep us cooler. My two year old enjoyed riding the train, which costs additional money, and the Kangaroo Kickabout, where you can get up close and personal... More

Sidewalks and attractions can get backed up when zoo is busy. Sidewalks are average sized, but not spacious. Attractions are nice, but not very large, which probably contributes to it getting crowded at times (not ridiculously, just more than I prefer). New attractions/exhibits have been added in the past couple of years. Playground area is fun for kids and adults... More
