I have been to several zoo's around this country and I was not impressed by the Nashville Zoo. Maybe it was because half of it was under construction. We didn't see many animals.

We had a blast at Zoo Ghouls. They really went out of their way to make sure the kids got to be kids. It wasn't too scary for the kids. Many of the animals weren't on display & that was disappointing. Good times!

The Nashville Zoo is a reciprocity zoo of the "Association of Zoos and Aquariums". All AZA zoos have to meet certain standards. The Nashville Zoo did and expand on the efforts for conservation, education and entertainment.

We initially decided to go to this Zoo because of the Kangaroo area. While we didn't get to touch any, it was still pretty cool. But, that was it for the cool factor. The grass is well-maintained, but where are the animals? For a zoo that is supposed to have close 1000 animals, we saw approximately 200, and half of... More

The zoo is big geographically but didn't seem like there were a lot of animals. There was a lot of walking in between exhibits. Grounds were nice but we kept asking where the animals were. My son sprained his ankle in the kangaroo exhibit (which was the coolest part of the zoo). We went to where First Aid was located... More

I have visited many zoos from Omaha to Topeka Zoo and living in Kansas City our zoo has had its growing pains. I was disappointed with the zoo because there were not very many animals out for viewing. The white tiger was at the top of the exhibit out of view, the elephants were being put back in. I did... They do not have a large selection of animals and a lot of animals weren't there due to construction. The Kangaroo area was my favorite part...got to pet a 9 month old kangaroo. Problem I had during visit was being humiliated at exit from parking lot. They refused to allow me to leave with out either paying $5.00 in cash... More

We go to zoos in every state we visit. This zoo may be the best priced. They also allow to yo walk with kangaroos and and actually pet them. That by far made the trip. During our visit most of the zoo was under construction but we still had a good time.

The zoo was not quite what I expected. In my mind I had it pictured like the Audubon zoo in Louisiana. It was still very nice though. Lots of construction was going on so I'm sure great things are coming too. We enjoyed getting to touch the kangaroos and interact with some of the birds. It almost seemed like some... More

Went with kids aged 3-8. Everyone had a fantastic time. Highlights included petting the kangaroos (you can walk into the habitat and touch them), choo choo train ride and one of the best playgrounds we have every seen. Make sure to leave plenty of time for the playground because it's huge. You can rent a stroller if you don't bring... More
