A costumed guide takes you through the inside of Old Hickory's house, with original wall paper and many historical artifacts. You can also tour the grounds via a horse-drawn wagon or simply walking to see slave cabins and other parts of the estate. There is also a film describing Jackson's life. They don't sugarcoat the fact that he was a... More

We arrived in Nashville with time to kill before we could check into our hotel. The Hermitage is not far from downtown so we decided to spend the afternoon there. Compared to other museums and plantation tours, the price is reasonable. The property is very well maintained and I would guess that a spring tour would be best when the... More

A quality historical event. Toured the house and grounds. Took the carriage ride and enjoyed the entire experience. Informative and well presented. Worth the entry fee.

It did so much to enhance our other visits and the audio tour was just as good at the Hermitage. One difference that I noticed was that the... More

Had a great three hour visit. Interesting guided tour thru the Presidents house. Tons of ground to cover. Looks at buildings, crops, slaves quarters and cemetery. Enjoyed every bit of it.

This is a historical place, home of President Andrew Jackson. Took the house tour and also horse drawn estate tour. Visited the garden and the tomb there. Had an insight into the life history of the president, his wife and family. History of slaves who lived in the estate and maintained the large estate is shown in the exhibits. In... More

While on business in Nashville I realized the Hermitage was here so I scheduled time to visit especially since my great grandparents were distant relatives of Andrew Jackson. This tour was great. The house is a wonderful piece of history with so much of the original décor and furniture. The grounds are great. Walk the trails and see the out... More

A great President who was not Mr. nice guy when it came to his slaves. The home is quite impressive. History is not a fairy tale I would encourage you to visit it.
