Just to correct the previous review, the real Parthenon is actually in Athens, Greece and the statue is 42 feet tall. I was quite taken with this, even though it was a little strange to see it in Nashville. The exterior is most impressive and my only criticism is that it would have been better if the interior had been... more

While visiting Nahsville, TN last week I took a tour of The Parthenon. That's right, just like the one in Rome except this is how it would have looked right after it was built! Frist built in Nashville as part of a huge Cinntenial Celebration around 1897, if I remember correctly. It was first built to just be temporary and... more

My husband and I went there in May of 2009 on our first trip to Nashville. I guess I thought there was more to it than there is. I was a little disappointed but it is worth a quick hop out of the car to take a walk around it. It is really pretty and very big as it houses... more

A full scale replica, this is an amazing place to see. This place does not cost very much to get in, worth going. You can take pictures inside this attraction on the upper levels. The Athena statue is amazing you have to see this for yourself to understand how big it really is. I would recommend this place in a... more

The Parthenon is worth a stop while in Nashville. The detail and architecture of the building itself is just amazing. The tour of the museum inside will not take very long (probably about 30 minutes or so to see and read everything), but I am glad that I took it. It was interesting to learn about the construction and history... more

The parthenon was a pitiful representation of history, and art. As a history and art buff, I came with big expectations, and was sorely disappointed by the lack of exhibits in the Parthenon. The museum is teeny tiny, and can be toured in a matter of minutes. The highlight of the tour is a large statue of Athena, the Greek... more

A friend and I decided to visit on a Sunday afternoon. The trees were in bloom and it was not very crowded. We found out why later - the indoor area was closed until later in the season! Still, the building and the grounds were beautiful. If you are traveling anywhere near Interstate 440 on the west side of Nashville,... more

Definitely worth a trip and the $6 admission fee. The outside of the building is magnificient and the inside has basically three parts. The first set of displays has pictures and descriptions of how the Centennial Exposition was built. On the same floor is an art gallery, which I imagine changes on a regular basis. Upstairs you’ll find Athena in... more

I've been to the Parthenon in Athens, and the experience of visiting the reproduction in Nashville is at least equal to and perhaps surpasses the original. The statue of Athena Parthenos inside is the most striking feature: the sculptor (Alan LeQuire) has done an amazing job recreating this wonder of the ancient world. The original statue has been lost (its... more
