This area or Nashville downtown, is both historical/old buildings. as well as new buildings. The old, is for the tourist, boots shops, ice cream (Mike's Ice cream), Candy Shop, souvenir shops and the most important live music places!!! Remember to visit both night and day, since the music is going on all day as well. The best about the district... More

This district is a unique area of Nashville. There were great restaurants to choose from and some had live bands. There were shops to explore. My family and I were there during the day and it was pretty lively. I bet at night it would be a great place to go out on a date or with friends. This area... More

If you want a little bit of everything all in one place, go to the district. Almost every bar has live music, GOOD live music. Everything is within a 5 minute walk. The district is made of primarily one street, about 6 blocks long, both sides of the street crammed with attractions. Restaurants. Ice cream joint. Candy store. Boots. You... More

We had a great time when my husband and I headed down to The District for our night out. We went to Jack's BBQ which was a great value. Be sure to head out to the patio so you can enjoy live music from the neighboring bars. Afterwards, we enjoyed popping in and out of the local shops. Topped off... More

What an experience - both day and night music pours out of every bar and honky tonk along The District. The crowd is definitely more rowdy at night. I thought Tootsies Orchid Lounge was way too crowded (wall to wall people) and grungie, but there were two really good bands playing. It was hard to enjoy worrying that we'd die... More

Between the shops, restaurants, museums, and honky-tonks we didn't get to do everything we had wanted to. The most fun was just going in and out of honky-tonks and listening to a lot of different artist/songwriters day or night. They do work off tips so keep a few dollars handy. Lots to see, lots to hear & do. Loved the night lights of the city. Lots of souvenir shops, clothing & boot stores. Live music coming from each bar into the street. Visit the savannah candy shop and get your pralines. Easily can spend a whole day downtown if you're a slow looker!

The District is the area that encompasses Broadway street and it's neighboring side streets. You can walk around and go into the bars, bars/restaurants that sound good. Stay for a drink or for hours. These are the up and coming artists who work for tips only usually. There is some great talent and some mediocre but they are all trying.... More

If you want to hear live music. The broadway - 2nd ave N is the place to be. During the day there is no cover and the musicians rely on your tips. Very talented folks to boot. Jacks BBQ is a must. BB kings has an awesome club band. Learn to line dance at the wildhorse then dance to the... More
