The tour guides were great! So much to see. Loved learning about the owner, Adelicia. The furnishings are wonderful and the restoration is still going on.

The house was not too easy for us to find as there was some construction going on in the street, but the tour guides were excellent and filled with knowledge. Bit by bit the house is being restored, and although it still looks shabby in spots, you can certainly get the feeling of what it was like to live in... More

This is one of the largest Civil-War era houses in Nashville, in the middle of the Belmont campus. Beautiful old home! Docents were friendly and informative. Tours begin pretty much when you enter, you start with an orientation and then the actual tour, often joining on a tour in progress and finish up seeing the rest of the house. As... More

Gorgeous mansion with a wonderful history. Staff explains the woman who through her perserverance held onto her house during the civil war and when being a smart, savvy businesswoman was looked down on.

This was a wonderful tour of a well preserved mansion with educated tour guides that shared the story of the amazing Adelicia Hayes Franklin, a woman who perseverance ranged from loss of husband(s), children and having her home taken over during the Civil War, yet she prevailed just as this home stands the test of time. A definite stop and... More

My wife and I went to this mansion if the deciding not to visit the Andrew Jackson plantation. After learning more about Andrew Jackson's post for activities we decided on this more local and less expensive tour. We had three different guides take no Susan multitude of buildings and the long history of the family that built the house and... More

Located on the university campus. It is a surreal experience to step out of your car in real time, take a few steps and ring a door bell only to be transported in time. The mansion has been painstakingly preserved and restored. The story of the family, as told by very knowledgeable guides, is a fascinating glimpse into the equally... More

We parked about a mile away on 12 South St and had a beautiful walk to Belmont Mansion after breakfast. The walk took us through a neighborhood with beautiful old homes and then through most of campus. That walk was just as enjoyable as the mansion itself which is definitely worth a visit if you like seeing old houses. They've... More

I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. The home is beautiful and you can almost imagine what it was like when Adelicia was there! Cliff was awesome he brought the tour to life! My kids are 13 and 10 and they were talking about it to family when we got home!

This wonderful home and the story of the lady of the house are more than worth a separate trip to see. Additionally, it isn't far to see Belle Meade along the way. Great original furnishings to see and wonderful history to hear. The parking is dicey since it is on a University campus, so make sure you get a pass... More
