We haven't been to Rutherglen unless we visit Chambers and sometimes we are lucky enough to chat with the legend himself, Bill Chambers. Unpretentious and generous with tasting bottles lined up for your enjoyment. This leaves the slick modern wineries for dead! Long may it remain as it is!

Loved the chance to pour our own tastings! Great wines too. We went home with 2 or 3 bottles! Very casual and relaxing atmosphere.

An old fashioned tasting room tended by a very charming lady who couldn't do enough for us. The wine was variable and most were not to my taste however the fortifides were fantastic, I walked away with quite a bit. We were offered tastings on anything we wanted including the Rare Muscadelle which was without doubt the best I have... More

We first visited Chambers 33 years ago and of all Rutherglen wineries, it is still a favourite. Why? Simple ... great wines, great service, great atmosphere, great prices. The cellar door still has a rustic, homely, welcoming feel. There is no pretentious or trendy entry, decoration or self-publicity. Just a great place to casually taste quality wines, with advice from... More

Sometimes Chambers is on hand and he is quite a character. Still a basic original tasting room but with self serve wines, large variety, most not to my taste, but some excellent value aged Rieslings and certainly worth a look for novelty value.

Thanks for mentioning Bill in your review. You are quite correct he is quite a character. Now days he tends to man the cellar door on Sundays and will occasionally pop in at other times. You are also quite correct in mentioning a wide range of quirky wines which can be just as much a curio value as good quality. More

Ok so it looks a bit daggy, but go inside, try the "family" try the walnut blend and you must have the reserve muscat. Put a bit of time aside this place is really fun and the highlight of all the vineyards in Rutherglen.

Thank you for your kind words. We work hard to get the 'daggy' component of our cellar door right. Our cellar door has been operating like this for over 40 years with just a couple of moves within the winery from out on the verandah to the shed we are now. More

Great winery!! Staff were lovely and left us to it to try all the wines at our own pace. They were not pushy into making us buy anything either. Wines were lovely and it was a great morning out.

Thank you for your kind words. At Chambers we do like people to be able to taste at their own pace without feeling pressured it is a method we have used for a considerable time. We acknowledge that this approach does not suit everyone and try to be flexible where possible. More

Our group of four didn't buy any wine here, not to our taste and wouldn't return however wines are personal taste so you should drop in if you have time but maybe don't make it a priority to go here.

Not the flashiest cellar door in town however the staff are friendly and the produce lives up to its great reputation. Have visited many times over the past 30 plus years and it never disappoints
