Visited in May 2014 and had a great time. The meal was incredible - each dish was cooked individually (including sauce in its own mini pot). We sat near the kitchen so we could see inside as our food was cooked. The pork belly with wild grains was by far the best thing that I have ever eaten. Outside's sculptures... More

I went to Montalto with a group of friends a few Sundays ago and was amazed how BIG it has become from my last Visit in 2003 .I found that the whole self service(Piazza Café) very impersonal from my last visit. It felt very robotic when we went to the cellar door tastings. Shall be visiting smaller wineries next time

Love Montalto's as a whole day out. Be it in a late spring or early autumn, the vineyards are buzzing with new "life". I love it that you can wander around through the vineyards, bush and up the hill, admire the new growth or grapes to be harvested. In autumn, the colours are just mesmerising. The olive, kiwi and fig... More

Ordered a meal that was described as containing Ox Tail however when eating it discovered it was Ox tongue and was unable to eat the meal. I asked the waitress to clarify what she recommended to us and initially she said it was Ox Tail however when she looked at her pad said oh yes Ox Tongue. She was not... More

Loved this place! The wines and olive oils are good, the food at the cafe was hearty and delicious! Pizza, chips, coffee, salads and wines. We were here on a Saturday and it was packed! The view is awesome from the cafe which is nested among vegetables patches and lots of greenery. There was even an art sculpture walk which... More

Sat down at 1:30pm and the restaurant was still jumping. Popular with families with small children but the kids can run around the rear grassed area with large windows so you can keep an eye on them as leave the adults to enjoy delicious food and wine. Outdoor area with pizzas etc. but l would only go for the restaurant.... More

What a fabulous venue for lunch. Excellent food, wine and a very attentive, friendly waiter. Great views over the valley. A very pleasant way to spend Sunday afternoon.

An excellent venue. Very sleek and professional, but presented in a very relaxed and casual style which is "right up my street." The wine tasting session was very well presented, interesting and informative. A selection of eight wines tasted. Don't miss out on sampling the excellent olive oils too,..earthy, rich and smooth. The lemon-infused oil was equally superb. The food... More

We phoned ahead to book a table, to be told we wouldn't need to book as they had plenty of spaces, only to arrive and be told no tables were available but that they had tables earlier, no apologies, nothing offered to compensate for their error. We went without lunch based I. Their advice- worst experience

This combination of winery, pizza cafe and restaurant caters for families and long lunch imbibers so if you want a good lunch experience then go there. The main restaurant well caters for the diet challenged and service is excellent. Meals are quality even if the deserts are probably not the chefs specialty. Good value at the upper end of launch...
