When we started our journey out of Melbourne we didn't realise how far out of the way this zoo is but had a day to kill and kids were excited about the lion feeding. We arrived to find no one around although open, the kids then came running saying they had been told off by a "horrid old woman", my... More

We enjoyed our visit to the zoo. We had 5 kids all between 11-15yrs old and even they enjoyed themselves. It was a beautiful day and the kids just loved all the animals in there. The highlight was the Lion and petting the dingoes.

First off, if your fuzzy, bring an extra sock. When they tell you to wear the loan gum boots even if the ground is bone dry, wear the gumboots. Before you know it, your shoe could be sinking on mud. The things you could experience here could cost you a fortune if you go to Melbourne Zoo. Bring the family... More

A lovely, small, family-oriented zoo. We spent a glorious afternoon enjoying the animals at this zoo. It is well priced and looks after the smaller details - such as providing gumboots. The kids (all 6 of them aged 6 to 18) loved feeding the deer, kangaroos, emus and llamas. Another highlight was patting the dingoes. The staff are engaging and... More

If you love to be up close to nature and feed & pat the animals you will love it here. Lots of fun - purchasing a feed bucket is a must - you will then be very popular with the animals. Gumboots are supplied - and needed, as it is quite wet and boggy. $44 for a family with 2... More

I have been coming to mansfield for many years and this was my first visit here. I had driven past it on many occasions but it didn't interest me. Boy was I wrong. We went with 4 other families and it was a rainy day but that didn't dampen the atmosphere. There were so many interactive animals and the staff... More

Don't go to Mansfield Zoo if you are wanting a commercialized and heavily structured zoo. You would be missing the point. We took our three children and camped overnight and it was one of the most amazing experiences we have had as a family. We have travelled to many places in the world but for your experience to work at... More

This Zoo is probably just a little too remote to get enough tourist dollars. And subsequently it seems like a poor cousin to the likes of Taronga and Australia Zoo. But if you want something to do with the kids while you are holidaying in the area you could give this a go. I'm glad we went, just to help... More

We camped overnight with our 3 and 6yo who thought camping amongst the deer, kangaroo's, peacocks and ducks walking close by was amazing. A beautiful scenic zoo providing an opportunity to get really close to the zoo animals and hand feed many. We ate dinner in the undercover bbq area before lighting a bon fire and toasting marshmallows for dessert.... More

Our family camped overnight at Mansfield Zoo with two other family friends. Together there were 6 children and 6 adults. The children range from 7 to 10 years old. We all had a great time. Although it was hot during the day, the children did not seem to mind. They were having too much fun walking around the zoo looking... More
