The reconstructed Ned Kelly homestead looks like it needs a bit of TLC. I'm sure the house that Ned lived in wasn't quite as dilapidated and didn't smell as strongly of mice/rats. Time for a working bee Glenrowan!

Unfortunately being in the country we have to contend with mice coming in from the cold every winter. Some seasons they are worse that others. We are onto them all of the time but if they die in the wall caverty we are in big trouble until the smell disappears. Mrs Kelly would have had to put up with this... More

Welcomed in by a lovely man at the front desk. Took the tour which had many old artefacts and information on the legend. Plus two cute cockatoos called Howard and Dorothy that were only too happy to chat!

I've been to this museum a couple of times now and will go back again. the second time I went I saw things there that I didn't notice the first time. Love the history behind Ned Kelly and am always drawn to the town whenever going to Melbourne. Looking forward to returning again.

Having owned the shop, museum and homestead display for over 29 years what is lovely to hear is that visitors still want and do return again and again. To keep it interesting we are always on the lookout for old and collectable bushranger and Ned Kelly books and different souvenirs. Howard and Dorothy the cockatoos ( museum & homestead display)... Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. The cockies are characters and they certainly have their own repeat visitors. Because our white Australian history is still recent, people readily recognise the tools that we have in the museum and homestead display. We often hear people comment that they still use one or their dad or grandfather used... More

The moment we stepped in the door we were welcomed by a lovely lady who was a pleasure to talk to about local history. She was very helpful and friendly. The owners of this place have done an amazing job of this place. They should be very proud. The whole place was so interesting. Our whole family really enjoyed this... More

Thanks SO much for taking the time to send in your review. Glenrowan is and interesting and lovely little town. This time of the year Mount Glenrowan ( I still call it Morgan's Lookout) is spookily shrouded in mist with a winter chill just coming into the air. Stand opposite the site of the siege of Glenrowan and you easily... More

Hi Nanna Parker I bet that when you came through you were entertaining grandkids??? It is a great display and only costs $1.00 for school kids. They especially love the talking cockatoos. Thank you SO much for taking the time to put in your review. VERY much appreciated. Thanks Chris Gerrett More

Stop off at Glenrowan on our trip home and was happy to come across the Ned Kelly Museum. It was cheap to visit and was very educational. The kids loved it.

THANK YOU We had some lovely people coming through our shop (Kate's Cottage) and the Museum Homestead display during these holidays. The cockatoos Dorothy & Howard love to entertain and will be extra demanding of our attention once the holiday session is over. Howard has been known to lay on his log with feathers all puffed up in a depressed... More

Well worth a visit staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Nice for it not to cost our family of 7 an absolute fortune for the experience. Thanks for the memories :-)

Thank you for the lovely review. We have good trade most of the year around through the shop and museum so don't find it necessary to have to put up our prices at holiday periods. We feel then it kept in an affordable range for families as yourselves. Thanks again. Chris & Rod Gerrett More
