Quite disappointed, we arrived at the ticket office and were greeted by the assistant, she said there was a tour of the Royal Cave starting in 20mins, we weren't given an option of the fairy caves. So off we went to the Royal caves after paying our money, it was just a short walk or drive. The guide was good... More

We chose the Royal Cave tour and were lead by an interesting guide through the underground magic of the calcite formations, learning about how the caves were formed etc. Fascinating! Well worth a visit and, also, to walk around the surrounding Reserve area, which is well kept and very attractive.

This is a must if you are in the area. We only did the Royal Cave tour. Now kicking ourselves that we didn't have enough time for the Fairy Cave. The guide we had we had was very knowledgeable and could answer our every questions. Be prepared to be amazed at the beauty of these beautiful natured crystals. Your best... More

Have done several cave tours over the years but would have to say Buchan caves is one of the most impressive. Further the park setting is very relaxing with a streanm runnning through it and lots of decidous trees. The is COLD.

We took our grand daughter through both the Fairy & Royal caves on our recent holiday & we all loved them! Both our guides were very informative, knowledgeable & friendly. Our biggest surprise, on top of the caves, was the ability to camp in the grounds as well. The facilities (camping), were excellent, with clean toilets & showers. Heaps of... More

We did the Royal cave, an hour long tour. There was some ambivalence about doing this in our group, but all agreed it was definitely worth it. It's all on a relatively small scale, compared to some other places in the world, but a number of the chambers are intricate and beautifully lit. Because parts of the cave are quite... More

A spectacular Cave system with quite informative tour guides/ Park rangers. These couple with a surprise, beautiful calcified limestone formations enhanced by direct lights had made our trip a well worth visit especially for our children. We did not know the Caves exist until we were surrounded by their hidden gem. The surrounding picnic areas and walks are pleasurable. A... More

The Buchan Caves are a group of limestone caves, located in the East Gippsland region of the Australian state of Victoria. They have a total length of between 3 and 4 kms and have six entrances. The limestone rock in the caves was laid down during the Devonian period about 300 – 400 million years ago. At the time, the... More

After our easy drive from Lakes Entrance we entered the Buchan Reserve. I didn't realise there was a camping ground there as well. What a beautiful place this was. Very peaceful surroundings. We bought tickets to both the Royal and Fairy Caves. Price was very reasonable and well worth the money. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and Anthony (our... More

This was well worth it. Beautiful and interesting. Our two year old wasn't too keen as some of the walkways were very narrow and low, but she loved the grounds. We stayed and had a picnic in the beautiful, shady grounds, said hello to the lovely kangaroos bopping around. It is just a lovely place and well worth a visit.
