The staff are very friendly it is a very clean place and cheap to camp free bbqs and fire pits available (fire ban restrictions apply) we actually stayed in 2013 and spent a long weekend over October it wasn't overly busy there is a park and waterfall in colder weather or a nice hike in warmer weather just make sure... Joined a tour to see the Royal Caves. The guide was friendly and informative. Some parts were narrow and required you to stoop, but it was not too difficult . Surprisingly the temperate is a constant 17 degrees and the humidity is 95 percent . Worthwhile 45 minutes, the park area was very well appointed with good facilities .

Located about 40 kms off the highway, the drive to Buchan Caves is as pleasant as the caves themselves. The caves are interesting and made more so by the guided tours that are conducted several times per day. There are 2 main caves, Royal and Fairy, and the tours take about 45 - 50 minutes to do. There is a... More

Wow, what a beautiful area, as I drove in I was blown away by the scenery. after parking the car you have a short walk up the side of the hill to the entrance of the caves. I went into the Fairy cave, It is truly a spectacular sight, the guides are a wealth of knowledge and can answer any... More

I suppose I am a bit blase about caves, having seen many of them as both tourist and explorer. The Buchan Caves are interesting without being brilliant. For one thing, parts of the caves, especially the Fairy Cave, are what cave people refer to as 'dead', that is, water has ceased flowing over rhe formations, meaning they are dull and... More

I've seen a lot of caves in my life, so I thought the Buchan caves would be 'just another pair'. Wrong. They have 5 tours a day in summer and 3 a day in winter to make sure not too many people go in the caves so they can keep up. Tour takes 45 min. Really good choice, since it... More

A must visit, these beautiful caves, Fairy and Royal, are great for the whole family to enjoy, pack a picnic lunch, or there are B.B.Q facilities or a cute little cafe in town. The park has swings, or go on one of the beautiful walks within the park. Caravan or tenting you will love the wild life, I find it... More

I was not expecting this. The attraction is very low key. The caves are much smaller that those at Jenolan so this offers a different experience. The intimacy and the proximity of the cave make it very spectacular. The stalactites are well protected - in some parts with chicken wire as you do walk very close to them. An excellent... More

We selected to do the double tour and see both caves (circa $80 for a family of five). As we were staying at the park we split the tours to separate days. Just be aware that the tours leave on time - we were late for one of our tours by five minutes. We had to rebook (and pay again)... More
