We did a night tour and whilst we throughly enjoyed it we found a few things lacking that stopped us from coming back to see the asylum in the day. Would have liked to see some of the rooms set up as they would of been back when the asylum was operational and for there to be some more information... More

We had a great night. Alex's storytelling and historical background information made for an enjoyable night. And a little scary for my teenage daughter and her boyfriend. Well worth the visit.

Ian was awesome. Best one I have been too so far. Very informative and scared the crap out of me. Crazy how it was back in the day. Def come back again.

Did both the day and night tour, was held by different guides but unfortunately a lot of the information overlapped so it would be good to see either a generous discount if one does both tours (paid just over 100 for two people), or a bigger dichotomy between the tour content and experience. Interesting stories and fun to walk around... More

Thank you for your feedback. We take all feedback in a positive light. We have passed your comments onto the guides concerned as we do have a completely seperate script for a day tour to the ghost tours at night. Hope to see you back here again one day! More

I'm not really a ghost tour fan but my husband is so we booked this one. We had a group of 8 plus our guide Bronwyn who was dressed in period costume. The tour goes for approximately 2 hours and goes into many of the rooms in the asylum. Bronwyn's knowledge was amazing - she had answers to every question... More

Our tour guide Alex did an amazing job and delivered the history of the asylum in an informative fun way. We didn't have any 'experiences' but was well worth the visit to hear the history & stories.

Didn't know what to expect but was delighted that we went on this tour. It was certainly an eye opener and extremely interesting. You MUST do this if you're in the area. We booked before hand and the tour filled up very quickly. I still can't believe how patients were treated and how they lived in that asylum.

We had Stewart and his wife for our guides and they were fantastic! Had plenty of experiences and got some excellent historic info whilst we were there. We will definitely be returning for the sleepover!

Very informative tour guide, Bronwyn. Fascinating learning about the Aslyum, which sadly is in a sorry state structurally. Was hoping for spirit activity, but they decided not to visit our night.

The best guided tour we've ever been on. Amazing old institution, a terrific guide, lots of laughter, and appropriate humour. No ghosts that we saw, but really, that's not the point. Mayday Hills is a beautiful site, now owned (I believe) by LaTrobe University.
