I did the tour with a hens night group. Thankfully it wasn't one of the typical out of control type groups. The ghost tour was great! Craig our tour guide was fantastic! The history of the buildings are incredibly sad but fascinating. I def recommend any of the tours to everyone.

A ghostly tale of atrocity from our past. Strangely disturbing feelings and an eerieness that can make you shiver. Craig our "superintendant of the asylum" was full of ghostly tales and local history. A must do Beechworth experience.

Of the 10 of us that came ot Beechworth, only 5 were brave enough to do on this tour, but we had a great time! Yeah, it rained the entire time, but that only added to the atmosphere. The tour itself was interesting and the guide entertaining. Would love to come back again with the rest of my friends.

Mayday hills asylum was built in a time when things were built to a standard not a budget and it shows, the buildings are amazing. One thing that detracts from the atmosphere is because it was open till 1995 most of the old buildings have been retro fitted with modern touches. The ghost tour was good but wished the paranormal... A friend of mine suggested we stop in at Beechworth and do a tour of the asylum on our way to Canberra. I was skeptical at first, but found the place extremely interesting. It was very run down thanks to LaTrobe Uni...however our tour guide, Bronwyn gave an interesting and informative tour. We can't wait to come back and do... More

Our nighttime Ghost Tour experience of the asylum was the highlight of our trip to Beechworth. Our guide Craig/Dr Jones created an excellent atmosphere with dramatic flair and eerie tales of the past. He worked well with the crowd; extremely patient and humourous. The tour was so intriguing that we searched the town for a book on the history of... More

Great storyteller who knew her subject and was able to give a few of the tour group quite a scare. Recommended to-do if you are in Beechworth

Myself and my partner went here on a Saturday night. It was interesting. Would benefit from getting rid of the cheesy "character" tour guides and fake skeletons etc in the waiting room - as the history of the place and hearing about what went on speaks for itself.

The ghost side of things was a little blah, as was the acting. Ignoring that though, for $35 we got a decent walk around, some history. It is worth doing while they still have access to the buildings.

I took my hubby along as a birthday pressie and we went on an 11pm Investigative tour with two other people and had Fiona as our guide. We had experiences from the very start with a spirit claiming to be related to my hubby. Because we were using ghost detecting equipment, we were able to tell when someone was with... More
