We decided to go to Beechworth for a night away together, purely to do the ghost tour. And it was definitely worth the trip. We went for a drive up to the asylum during the day just to suss the place out (definitely advise doing this, as it is a bit of a rabbit warren to get to the starting... More

Brilliant! we took the evening ghost tour with Craig and it was a great night. Wandering all over the old asylum Craig was full of information and stories. The asylum is still largely intact and hasnt suffered from terrible 70's renovations. Highly reccomend

This is a great tour to do of a grand old property. The guide we had was funny and informative. She was also very indulgent of my 8 and 12 year old who were typical boys with nervous energy (next time they won't do the tour with us). We are sceptics, who have an open mind. I had the back... More

Fantastic experience, gory details and great historical knowledge from our Guide. Well worth a go as it familiarises one with the goings on of the past, ie, social injustice, patriarchal society, how one could easily end up in an asylum etc.

Don't get your hopes up if you are hoping to see apparitions as you may be disappointed but for those you are interested in history then this is a must see! Ian our host (a former worker at the asylum) was full of knowledge, passion, fun and made sure everyone received a good experience. Highly recommended!

A very interesting tour given by Brownwyn who clearly has great enthusiasm for the place and its history. Would recommend a visit, the history of the place and people is fascinating and sobering. A little more information about particular patients/practitioners might be good, displays maybe?? But overall a great experience. Thanks Bronwyn!

The place is an old hospital and there were no ghosts or anything in particular to give us that effect. A lady simply explains the surrounding and what took place in each of the locations expecting us to get scared. We expected the area to be more scary and exciting but it was just some old buildings where there used... More

We recently stayed at Linaker nurses quarters and walked to the asylum for the ghost tour (make sure you book in advance). It was excellent. Ian was a fantastic guide, full or stories and hidden surprises. You get a pretty comprehensive tour of the asylum including the female wing, male wing, airing courtyards and even where they medicated, tortured and... More

Went for a drive around the hospital in the daytime and was amazed at the size of the place. Then booked for a night tour...well worth it. I was a little frightened as I didn't have a light and had to keep up with those that did. Only 4 for 20 people? How could humans treat each other like that.... More

Ghost tour was very informative and learnt a lot about the history of the asylum. Definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Beechworth! The tour guide told us so much more information than we could have ever googled.
