Owner description: Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

Although I am not a zoo fan I have visited many of them in Europe. Sydney's Taronga zoo is unique. You can reach it by ferry from Circular Quay on a 15' trip. The you catch the teleferique from the pier to the zoo entrance. The place is scenic, it has a huge collection of animals, events and conservation programs.... More

Well designed zoo, good selection of native Australian animals, staff was friendly and helped us with a wheelchair for my youngest son, just our of his leg cast for a few days only, at no extra cost. Backdrop to the Sydney Skyline and it's magnificent harbour. Taking the ferry from Circular Quay is an adventure in itself. Highly recommended for... More

Nowhere else in the world can you see every kind of animal with the back drop of Sydney's magnificent harbour. Arrive by ferry and catch the bus to the entrance at the top of the hill then make your way at your leisure down to the bottom just in time to catch the ferry home after a super day.

Great experience for adults and kids alike. A good traveling tip is to take advantage of "Sunday Funday" fares - $2.50 per adult for unlimited rail and ferries. Great way to get to the zoo cheap. If you have little kids, make sure you start at the top of the zoo. Its on a reasonably decent incline, and the walk... More

We got to the zoo using the public boats that go across the harbour. Once there, we took the Abe cars to the zoo entrance although you get tge bus. It was a big place. If yo looked down from the Cale cars you had a birds eye view of the zoo. You could have your pictures taken with koala.... More

We booked our tickets through ExperienceOz and it was a great deal. The ticket incl. Captain Cook Cruises, entrance ticket and Sky Safari cable car. We started our day early but wished we could spend more time at the Zoo. We loved the animals; they are a beauty. But we only managed to watch the Sea Lion show. Don't forget... More

I am not a huge fan of zoos due to the fact of animals being ill-treated with very strained environments. However the Taronga Zoo was an absolute joy to visit while in sydney and I had a super duper time! Tips We took the ferry from Circular Quay and the scenic ride was great, try to at least sit in... We bought a ticket which incuded return ferry from darling harbour, skway ride and entrance to the zoo for $53. The boat ride with Captain Cook Cruises included a commentary and a short tour via Circular Harbour & Fort Denison. The skway was a good start to our entrance. The zoo has lots of intetesting animals and checking feeding times... More

Taronga Zoo is on prime real estate on Sydney harbour which makes the visit even more beautiful. While walking around to see the animals you can look at this view and it adds to the beauty. The zoo is currently working on improving the areas of the animals to give them surroundings that can resemble where they would live in... More
