I have enjoyed Porthkerry Park over many years. ideal for dog walking, open spaces for children to play, cheap pitt and putt stunning viaduct ! The rangers are always looking to improve the location. Recent years have seen them leave expanses to be natural but always leaving cleared space for ball games etc. It makes it a little "unmanicured" but... More

Porthkerry Park is one of Barry's hidden gems. Excellent for all the family, especially young children. Plenty of woodland walks, and an excellent place for food. Marco of Barry Island fame has another outlet there

I normally enjoy a visit to this park, but went on Sunday to find parking has gone up to £2.50 per car, then when you get to the cafe parking area there is no space. I enjoyed a cup of tea at the cafe and this new area is a good addition to the park. Whilst I don't mind paying... More

A lovely walk amongst beautiful scenery. A shingle shore ideal for picnicking or just sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet. Will visit again :)

We used to take our three boys there regularly when they were small, they could run around to their hearts content without us worrying about them. We visited the place in May, and found it still a good place to go and take your children, lots of places to play and have picnics, we sat on the cobbled beach and... More

Hidden park with woodland and wide open spaces near the airport. Also quiet beach with cafe. Would suit airport travellers wanting an hour or two at the seaside.

A great place to take children for a picnic, play putting, have a walk in the woods or along the pebble shore looking for fossils. There is a small charge for parking and of course somewhere to buy ice cream etc but an economical way of spending a fine day during school holidays.

A regular trip after school for an ice cream or to share a picnic. No admission charge, a beach, pond dipping, woodland walks and a playpark as well as excellent ice cream. What's not to like?
