Mini golf, play area, café, pebbly beach, large park for ball games and woods to explore. Porthkerry has it all.

Used to go here when money was short to get the kids out of the house and when we'd had enough of the beach, it's got a lovely little park and vast areas of greenery.

Fun for young & old, great for dog walking. Wonderful woodland walks & also a lovely pebble beach, you could spend hours here so maybe take a picnic...Although there is a shop/cafe on sight.Highly recommend a visit...

Living in Barry you tend to forget some of the gems that are right on your doorstep and Porthkerry Country Park is one of them, we love to take the dog walking through the countryside and if you walk right down to the very bottom you come to a pebble beach and the sea. There is a childrens play area,... More

We ended up here quite by chance after looking around the Barry area for somewhere to enjoy our picnic lunch. What a lucky chance it was! Paid only £2.50 for parking, cheap compared to most places, and found ourselves the perfect place. Lots of green space for sitting, some on blankets, some with sun shelters, there's picnic tables and even... More

I have enjoyed Porthkerry Park over many years. ideal for dog walking, open spaces for children to play, cheap pitt and putt stunning viaduct ! The rangers are always looking to improve the location. Recent years have seen them leave expanses to be natural but always leaving cleared space for ball games etc. It makes it a little "unmanicured" but... More

Porthkerry Park is one of Barry's hidden gems. Excellent for all the family, especially young children. Plenty of woodland walks, and an excellent place for food. Marco of Barry Island fame has another outlet there

I normally enjoy a visit to this park, but went on Sunday to find parking has gone up to £2.50 per car, then when you get to the cafe parking area there is no space. I enjoyed a cup of tea at the cafe and this new area is a good addition to the park. Whilst I don't mind paying... More

A lovely walk amongst beautiful scenery. A shingle shore ideal for picnicking or just sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet. Will visit again :)

We used to take our three boys there regularly when they were small, they could run around to their hearts content without us worrying about them. We visited the place in May, and found it still a good place to go and take your children, lots of places to play and have picnics, we sat on the cobbled beach and... More
