This railway is not on the same scale as the Tallylyn, but provides an interesting glimpse into Welsh railway history. The staff were all very friendly and enthusiastic.

Want to enjoy a day at the friendly railway of Wales ? Then visit the Corris Railway. They may only have a small line at present but they are expanding. Their rolling stock is totally unique, so utterly interesting and cute! Very friendly and helpful staff, and with being such a small operation they have time to show an interest... More

Entirely run by volunteers, the railway kindly allowed the Machynlleth Comedy Festival to have a gig in the Engine Shed. This included a trip on th train. A great experience, especially when the driver had to get out to shoo the sheep off the line.

There was only three of us on the train, the steam train was not running that day, driver poorly, but staff very apologetic. We still went, with the diesel. My four year old grandson loved it...it is not a long journey, but the volunteers were great, with a really interesting talk at the other end...worth a trip...lovely scenery. I would... More

First the positive - run by very friendly volunteers doing their best to preserve and restore this little piece of Welsh history. The talk is interesting and the volunteers' enthusiasm is clearly evident. The downside is there isn't much track and the journey on the train is very brief so you don't get to see much of this area's stunning... More

Quite expensive for what you get to see and how far you get to travel on the train. If you've got a spare hour then its worth a look. If your a steam train enthusiast you'll like it ,unfortunately we aren't so found it a bit boring. But what the chaps on the train are doing is very admirable keeping... More

Wonderful experience - their lovingly recreated steam engine and gorgeous carriages are so perfectly placed on this tiny but beautiful line. The relatively short journey each way (10 mins?) is a boon for those with children, and the talk whilst visiting the engine shed is fascinating. The museum is not yet NRM standards, but hides a multitude of narrow gauge... More

This little railway was fascinating, not only do you get to ride on a steam train you also get a guided tour of the workshops and hear all about their preservation work from the enthusiasts. This is well worth a visit. We were on a week long holiday with Hf holidays visiting the Great Little Trains of Wales and this... More

Has Corris become invisible? It's incorrect to say this attraction is in Machynlleth. It's not. It's small and homely and nice for children. The people running it have worked very hard for many years to get it up and running.
