Went today on our motorbike, started off at the Artisan Cafe, as it was drizzling and we wanted a drink and to dry off. Extremely helpful staff, with some wonderful pieces to buy in the cafe - we purchased some candles and soap and made use of the free wifi. We went to the bird hide and watched the various... More

Lovely walks around the lake and the waterfall is a must to see. Dogs are welcome but to be kept on leads, sheep country. Coffee shop the Artisan sells lovely coffee and cake. Toilets are very clean and parking is free. There are lots of places to stop and have a picnic.

It's a bit of a trek from the main road but worth the journey. Good parking facilities on the other side of the dam where you will also find a couple of cafes, bird hides, bikes to hire, a RSPB shop, picnic areas, some decent toliets and a small visitor centre. There are plenty of walks ranging from 1 mile... More

Beautiful lake. Ideal for sailing, kayaking, bird-watching or just generally relaxing, walking and enjoying the scenery.

Went here recently for a family wedding, the views over the lake are amazing. There are lots of walks around the lake also. The sculpture park is a bit of a let down as the up keep is poor but would recommend leaving enough time to hire some bikes and cycle round the lake even deviatiing off the beaten track... More

My husband and I had a lovely day out planned at Vyrnwy, and nothing compares to the views offered by this beautiful lake! We had planned a big dog walk, but this was scuppered by the local hunt. Dog walking here is poor, but renting some bicycles and cycling around the lake would be a lovely day out for friends,... More

A beautiful lake to drive or cycle around. Some beautiful waterfalls and giant trees. Lots of places to do a bit of bird spotting. We kept jumping out of the car to take photos.

We've been here on and off for years..as a couple walking, with young kids and now teenagers. Nice to walk by and it has a good little information place to visit and a sculpture garden. Good to take a bike and make an afternoon of it. Worth exploring down the bottom of the dam. Off the beaten track piece of... More

Bit of a drive to get here but ell worth it.Second visit here , last time the heavens opened up and believe me you dont want to be here then. The scenery is spectacular, its like being in the Rockies or the Alps with a bit of imagination, and its on your doorstep. Drove all the way round but be... More
