Great walks, fantastic food spots and lots of wildlife!

We did a loop of the lake which was worth it for the views. We stopped half way around at the Lake View Tea Room which is certainly worth popping into! A nice day out!

Situated about 10 miles from Bala, Lake Vrynwy has to be one of the most lovely areas in the whole of Wales. A road runs right around the outside of the lake, which must about around 10 miles in total, the setting has a real feel of a Canadian forrest and is very tranquil. There is a visitor centre at... Lovely scenery. Reasonable at tea shop. Would like to go back and visit The Tower Hotel. Need to take care on winding roads round lakeside.

Beautiful location set amongst the hills of Mid-Wales... but it's a bit of a nightmare to get to! I suppose that is the double-edged sword of its nature: its remote splendour is what draws you there, but it is a long way to travel to a town of any real size.

Visited here on a recent break with partner and dog, was free to park and had shops, there are several walks mapped out via sign posts so very easy to follow, I completed the red walk which is a 5.5 mile walk which shown some of the most beautiful scenery! Would definitely visit again

Great walking around the lake with lovely views and well marked trails of differing lengths. We started at the Artisans coffee shop car park and did a three mile walk taking us above the lake into a forest and then back to the car park. Good bacon sandwich in the coffee shop and tables outside for sitting if you have... More

Excellent lakeside drive with spectacular views. You must visit the water board visitor centre and watch the film. The cafe is very good and have a short stop in the RSPB bird hide. The birds come to feed at the feeders so make sure you have your camera at the ready. Not for the faint hearted is the single track... More
